Today's poll: is BAE the worst player to ever play in the premier league. Seriously. Is this in fact the worst poll ever conducted by any organisation? I don't mean this to be a is he or isn't he thread about BAE by the way. I just thought I'd flag up another special by TalkSport (on Drivetime of course) that doesn't actually merit discussion on the subject of the poll at all, just about how stupid they are to even consider it.
TalkShite generally just do things like this for attention and to cause controversy, but I don't see their angle on this one. It's clearly a ludicrous suggestion, as Assou-Ekotto's not even the worst player in our squad right now, let alone the league this season, but he's hardly the most popular player, either. Who's going to react wildly and rush to his defence? I guess he might phone them up himself and LOL.
I thought BAE was superb during the Redknapp period, obviously something went on between him and AVB, to say he's the worst player ever in the premier league is a joke....have they not seen Lamela or Paulinho
Where, who and when drive time is fine BUT how or why completely avoids any part of the conversation of the laziest brain dead journalist on air
To even have that poll is ****ing ridiculous. They are just doing it to be funny and clever when basically they end up looking like a bunch of ignorant pricks.
I was going to also point out that he played in the team that beat Inter Milan 3-1 in the champions league, but then I realised Alan Hutton played as well which kind of ruins the point I'm trying to make. Actually Alan Hutton, there is a premier league player about a million times worse then BAE for a start!
If they're going to talk about the prem's worst ever LB, why no mention of that unforgettable clown, Santos, who briefly played for The Goons?
At his best, Beni was an excellent left back. When I saw Liverpool play Spurs in Baltimore the summer before last, he was the best player on the field. He does seem to have gone downhill quite a bit since then.
I picked up the station later on for a brief moment. Basically you can play this game, before you turn on you guess are they talking about Liverpool, ManU or is it an advert! Well normally I'd be right but on this occasion they were talking about Le Ars, which I guess would have been equally likely given their match yesterday and that Durham talks about them so often. Anyway he was saying that Arsenal deliberately come 4th in the league in order to get two extra games of CL qualification, in order to make more revenue. It would be bad enough if this is not the most ludicrous thing he's said, but its just an example! There's this expression "jumping the shark*" which is sometimes mentioned when something has gone ludicrously too far ... but TalkSport and particularly Durham went off the shark scale so long ago it isn't even a valid measure. * NB came from an episode of Happy Days when Fonzie did this.
The only slight positive thing about Adrian Durham is he seems to hate Arsenal even more than us. I rarely listen anymore. I sometimes listen to Hawksbee and Jacobs but apart from that I don;t really bother.
For me, this 30 second video sums up BAE: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lroqvfcsl...Entertainer - Tottenham v Lyon 2013-02-14.mpg (still can't believe it's still banned on YouTube)
