I saw a better one scored by a bloke called Windass at Wembley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9d7MPyxKYrI
This is the best goal ever. By a mile!
Great goal but if a League 2 player did it, hardly anyone would have known about it This is my personal favourite of all time (don't let the commentator sh!t you up) ^ The Matt Le Tissier one is also nice
^ The Matt Le Tissier one is also nice
Personally have to say Le Tiss was and always be the master, light ball and boots designed to curl it, mean no one will repeat his style. Nice bloke as well.
strange to say, but i think trevor sinclair scored one of the best goals ive seen.. tho i do like the long runs as well..
I like a goal that was scored from a similar position to the van basten goal but it was a backwards header. I can't say the best ever but I did enjoy the gareth bale volley from within the box his leg was real high thats all i remember.
There are so many types of great goals it's impossible to compare. I find it hard enough to decide between MOTD's goal of the month contenders, never mind picking one from every goal ever. I also liked the Bale one (against Stoke I think it was), Van Persie scored a similar one against Charlton a few years ago; somehow managed to volley it at head height and it flew in, amazing technique. Also watching Deano's DVD the other day there were a few of his that stood out to me, one in particular when he went through one on one but showed great composure to slow down completely before the keeper got to him and just pop it over his head so delicately. He got the angle absolutely spot on. Another one I love was Bostock's against Swansea. The actual shot on its own makes it one of the best long-rangers I've seen because it was so very accurate (couldn't have been any closer to the post and bar) but the turn he did immediately before it made it a brilliant goal. And of course, (if only for dj's sake) Ashbee Vs Torquay was a top goal.
Awesome yet uncanny choices, as soon as I saw the topic of this thread these were the first two goals I thought of!
my personal favourite goal was scored by my favourite ever (non hull city) player. Bergkamp v Argentina 1998.
i like to see a well hit shot. those are my favourites and he hit the ball well but so he bloody should - he's on a daft salary at one of the best teams in the world. typical of the media to fawn over it but jeez i've hit shots that well and so have players at every other level of football.
Yes it is a fine goal, I'd never dispute that, but I maintain you'll see 10 better every single season. For me the greatest goal of all time is Carlos Alberto's in the 1970 world cup final. A truly astonishing team goal.
I hate the ****, but got to be in the top 3 best ever goals. Take into account this was scored in the Quater Finals of the World Cup
