It there a link Thai? The statement from Hamilton yesterday said he was due there for s meeting today before so I doubt we'll see anything before this afternoon anyway.
Ah embedded, nice, that article doesn't really say anything new other than that he's still in norwich. I'd see that as positive I think.
I started the new thread as it does (slightly perhaps) conflict with what was coming out yesterday, although I guess if he gets a flight direct to Glasgow from Norwich, an announcement today is not out of the question
That certainly makes it looking likely now. Announcement this afternoon? Also, his recommendation of his assistant to take over at Hamilton suggests that Phelan and Holt will probably be staying, which is a key factor, IMO.
Me too, mostly because everything points to a managerial appointment that has been given some 'real' thought, and not rushed through. Let's just hope he is indeed the right man for the job this time
great news, i think he will need the experience of MP et al, no need for major heart surgery changing all staff..
Spot on. It's still a big risk. We can only really hope it will work. But this has the hallmarks of professionalism and care rather than shoddy panicky and rushed decisions by owners rather the guys who know what they're doing. And MP staying makes me feel a lot more comfortable about the situation - they could be a fierce combo. Both bald! (Like me - so a big fan)
If he is seen by the players as the boss, and not as a rookie who needs his hand held by the existing staff then I feel quite optimistic. I think the later was the problem with Neil Adams and Mike Phelan- an appropriate hierarchy was not in place. If MP has agreed to this and appears happy, this will give out the right message to the players.
I can't wait for his first garbled Interview in his thick Scotch accent. The lads did briwyint cannee fault em . Lambert was ace at that.
City fan has just started a thread on the Accie's forum http://www.acciesworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=112 Wonder if it's one of us on here ? Oh, and it's not me !
Like the look of this extract..... The style of play is what everyone is saying, apart from the WUMs posing as accies fans on your fans' forum. His team plays a high pressing, tempo game, based on quick passing and an attacking mentality. If you check out the highlights you will see that when the ball comes into the box, there are frequently 4 players in there waiting. This is because he uses his midfield to move forward fast. There is long passing of course, but no 'hit and hope' nonsense.
Just seen a brief interview with AN on the Look East news and it seems that all that is left to do is for him to agree personal terms with NCFC. Looking forward to seeing if the fine details do get successfully resolved and the change of tactics etc we can expect with a new manager. He is expected to return to Norwich tomorrow for further talks!!
EXACTLY what we've needed. If he can bring that sort of football here I'll be extremely happy. It's still a big if at this stage though. He's not worked with a bunch of players like ours before. Different pressures, different egos. Interesting times for sure
Aye, and there's the rub, Supers. He's moving into a totally new environment for sure, but McNally and Co must have taken that into account. It's a gamble, but one we have to take because a 'safe pair of hands' won't get us back into contention.
