now it's time to walk the walk.Jake Cole has spoken in the papers today of his firm belief that the team are heading in the right direction with confidence following on from an up beat interview yesterday with Ashley Hemmings predicting survival.Several other players such as Gibson and Purse have previously expressed the view we are too good to go down.In a way it's heartening to hear their confidence but we heard very similar comments, obviously from different players when we were in the Championship and league 1 and we all know what happened!.So for me I take it all with a pinch of salt-for my own sanity.Anybody get excited, hearing the players talking the talk?

Yeah know what you mean, heard it all before. Seeing is believing. On a more positive note it does look more promising now than it did under Reidy despite my misgivings. Still a long, long way to go yet though.

We have all mostly gone past words of comfort by now given the last 3 years. You would however expect them to say what they are saying and would probably be very worried indeed if they said otherwise. There is no doubt that the results have bucked up considerably of late so you have to say they are beginning at least to walk the walk as well. There are bound to be off days. Even Southend have lost a few along with Crawley so no team is going to win everything. Lets just say there are glimmers of hope beginning to sprout albeit there is still a ways to go. The next month will show how far they have come or if this was just a flash in the pan. You have to admit that there is more reason to be hopeful no matter how cynical we might be from past experience.

It does have an unpleasant resonance with a chairman expressing absolute backing for the manager doesn't it? We all know what follows that........
