Our Fairy Godfather has been around for over 7 years now and it bothers me he doesn't communicate with Blues fans! With Chelsea TV at his disposal, it wouldn't be difficult for him to deliver the occasional message, just to let us know he cares for us! Perhaps something along the lines of the Queens Christmas Day broadcast to the nation. He's the complete opposite to Ken Bates, who I bumped into once while he was getting off the team coach at Villa Park. The strong breeze messed his hair up, and he asked me if he could borrow a comb, which I just happened to have on me! Come on Roman--give us a wave!!
Got to remember though, Bates is a blue! Roman is an entrepreneur and is needed in his other business'. I do agree however that he should give us the odd interview.
It's a well known fact Russians like to conduct their affairs discreetly. I personally like the fact Roman isn't PR friendly. Would rather the media hate him and us for things he doesn't say rather than things he does say

I've been there since the Mears family owned the club, (their forebears founded the club). I and fellow fans respected them, and beyond them Ken Bates as well. They not only owned the club, but appreciated the fans who followed the club and were happy to demonstrate it. Roman clearly is passionate about the club, but my point is that he doesnt go out of his way, to communicate with the fans. Perhaps he's shy....I dont know!
As I said the culture is much different in the East compared to what it is over here. Western owners here have always tended to be media-savvy and like being in the headlines with the focus all on them etc. i.e ex-QPR owners, Mike Ashley (Newcastle) In the East it is much different, business tends to be conducted privately away from the media etc. i.e Sheikh Mansour (City), RA (Chelsea)
I'm sure you're right DL. I just wondered if CTV had ever attempted to obtain some sort of message to the fans, which isnt quite the same as a post match interview. Thinking about it, I suppose its better to have our owner shrouded in mystery, than to have him in our faces on a daily basis.
This. As long as he has the club's best interests at heart that's all I care about. With my other primary sport, ice hockey, I know a decent amount about prospects but haven't got a clue about the owners. They pay the salaries and let the GM do what he needs to win.
