Had a discussion on last nights results which I listened to in the car. West Ham - in deep **** Us, they all felt we'd stay up now, we've got that all important momentum. It's far from over, but I'm feeling positive.
I hope they're right... BUT .. BUT.. BUT... as I'm coming down form the euphoria of last night..... Saturday we could be back in the bottom 3 again so lets hold fire and keep the positivity alive no matter where we are at 5pm. Saturdays game for us, like Palaces at Chelsea and Swanseas at Liverpool is something of a free hit, though we are fast running out of games. West Ham v Swansea on Saturday is probably the biggest of all games recently. Ideal result a draw. BTW... for anyone interested, 5/1 City to finish above Burnley on Sky betting site. Be mad not to. Thankfully my 4 timer went in last night so thanks to Spurs i've re-invested the proceeds.
Still a long way to go, but if we can get a point or 3 from the next 2 games then things will look even brighter.
We had only 4 games left that season after the Liverpool match, though: Arsenal (h) Burnley (h) Tottenham (a) Man Utd (h) And we all know what happened against Burnleh.
Yeah, but we didn't have Silva. Watching Middlesbrough last night reminded me very much of a Steve Bruce side. One plan which is plan A. Beyond that - nothing.
Our run-in is (on paper blah blah) much easier than then too. Ok, Burnley was a "home banker" that we had to win and.. ****ed up, as we all know. But the other three, is very similar to Palace's run-in which is why they are still deep in ****e.
Exactly what I though when I read the first post. We beat LFC and the players celebrated. Then Leicester won seven on the bounce. Anything can happen. I don't care who says what and which prediction threads exist. No one knows and no one can know. When people point to journos or media people saying this or that it's as valid as the man in the pub. And worthless beyond a talking point.
He even did the "throw on a couple of **** strikers for the last 10 minutes" thing. Don't think Bamford even had a touch, did he?
Agree. Form tables and the like are meaningless. The only useful benchmarks are what points/wins tallies have meant relegation or survival in past years. And even then I think the evidence suggests that ten wins in the season, which normally means survival, might still mean relegation for someone this season. Unless Swansea collapse.
I think we all know now things have settled again after last nights great win that we have now given ourselves a real chance and that's something many of us a few weeks ago thought had gone. Now its the run in and lets be honest with our poor away form and having over the next couple of games to travel to Manchester city and stoke both very difficult games its a very tough start, It would be nice to get a point or three from any of the games and lets not forget goal difference could play apart at the end of the season. None of us know how well other teams will do over the coming weeks but one thing is for sure not many city fans will get to carried away because we know from past experience that all we have done is get back in with the pack now we have got to try and keep out of the bottom three which wont be easy but has last night showed we are ready for the battle.Stick together and hopefully we will do it.
