That the Joe Mason move to Bolton is back on. That will be 10 players out on loan, how many will come back? David Richards McNaughton Oshilaja Nugent Lappin Harris Ralls Conway Gestede Mason Also it's thought that Palace will be in for Hudson in January Thoughts?
Rudy off to Blackburn for a try before you buy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25112685 Pullis wants Hudson at Palace. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/crystal-palace-eye-mark-hudson-2853404 The former is good for all parties, though I don't see us letting Hudson go unless MM has a target in mind for January. Leaves us with Connoley and Baby Ben (who is out on loan).
Don't think we should sell him to the Palace. Anywhere else but not to our potential relegation rivals. Feel sorry for Mark though I think he may get a chance before the end of the season.
If we stay up, maybe Harris and Ralls have a chance but in all likelihood they all need football league clubs. If we go down then it's another story. I think Rudy is already 'sold' for a nominal fee in the loan deal.
Sorry DJ, a bit of an overlap with the post I just made. Kev, Lappin, Conway and Rudy are surpless to requirements. Conway was borderline, but we need more pace and as said elsewhere, Don has stepped up. Nugent, Ralls, Mason and Harris could make the grade but need game time so are likely to come back at least in the short term. Nugent probably has more time than the others. I think Oshilaja is being tested and it's **** or bust for him. If he impresses on loan I can see hime staying registered with us but being out on loan again next year. Seeing where some of the players are loaned to, you realise how far we've progressed. Not that long ago, us signing a loanee from Blachburn would have been big news.
Oshilaja doing well at Newport...but it is Div. 2. The lad certainly has a football future, just not necessarily with us. There is a cb in the Development Squad - Mondarain or something like that ( signed around the same time as KTC) who is supposed to be a bit useful. However, I don't think we should be offloading Hudson unless we have a quality replacement lined up. I'm sure he is frustrated at the lack of first team action and will be dependable when called upon, as he surely will be as the season progresses.
No problem remote, Can't argue with your post, Nugent, Ralls & Mason all done a job for us when brought in and Harris was scoring for fun with the development squad. Oshilaja had a few good games at Newport too. As you say, we've progressed so I won't be surprised if all of them will be gone before next season.
Agree with this BfB, Caulker is 1 yellow from a ban and Turner is 1 mistake from being dropped, Hudson must be kept IMO
Oshilaja has stood out in the Development games ive seen. I think he will have a future with us. Maybe a loan at Championship level. Ralls , Harris , Mason all young enough to make the grade as well. Hudson cannot be loaned to the Nigels under any circumstances. If they want him they can buy him for over the odds. Next season if we are in the PL i expect to see some of our current line up sold on.
Agree with all that Hilts. If we were going to ship out our 3rd choice CB then to 'lend' him to a potential relegation rival would be mental! The only way Huds is leaving is if we are signing another CB in January and I just don't see that being a priority. How much would better than Turner or Caulker cost and who better than Hudson would want to sit on our bench? Just heard a rumour, haven't got a clue how good the source is, that the Montero deal could be back on in January.
