Great win. I like CH plan of scoring a few goals then giving them some hope before killing the game off all so we are first on match of the day!!!! Good man
My thoughts exactly! Thats 2 in a row now where we have been cruising at HT only to let the other team back into the game! Something has to be done about that... Still, WHAT A WIN! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS! OTBC!
well it is also to stop BBC match reports saying we don't score many.... also we don't want our goal difference to be too good!
They got back in because of Bunn's terrible decision making. And let's face it, the equaliser should have stood. He just doesn't have Ruddy's awareness of the game. But then, not many keepers do.
Just realised we are now only 4pts off a Champions League place! Please note, My tongue is very firmly planted in my cheek!
The last two second half performances to me prove fatigue is creeping into the side. That's twice in a row we have been pretty poor in the second half, I think we need to tinker things about a little bit more just to keep the team fresh. I know the old saying don't fix something which isn't broke, but you have to act when it's breaking. Which I think it is. Still great result.
We won both games though. It can't be THAT broken. Thing is, this is the Premier League. It is rare to see a team dominate for an entire game. Even the top end clubs have bad halves. When Lambert was here, the one critisism levelled at him from time to time was that he tinkered too much and we sometimes struggled for understanding between players. Now we finally have got a settled side it is suggested that changes be made? A Norwich Manager can never please everyone! Actually there were changes today. Howson in for Tettey, Rusty in to replace Bennett. What we have to remember is that half our back 4 today were either replacement (rusty) or playing in a different position (Whittaker).
The good news, though, is that we did it without Tettey and with two of our key defenders missing. That makes me hopeful for the future. We have a system and people can slot in.
On the Tettey note, how good was Bradley Johnson? As the madness unfolded it seemed at 3-2 he came away with the ball and did the right things quite a few times. I had my doubts about him but he gets better all the time.
It's a hard one as we are still unbeaten but yes, the 2nd half performances after taking a commanding lead is a worry. Still a very happy bunny tonight and feel survival is well and truly on the cards now. Now lets beat the crap out of Villa this coming week
I said that this continued line up means fatigue is creeping in. Lambert used to make 8 changes. I am not saying that. I am saying use the squad we have and keep players fresh, I wonder whether that's why Tettey and Bennett picked up injuries after playing 3 games last week. The players have put a proper shift in, which is to their credit, just think we could maximise our squad more. Also when did I say Hughton is not pleasing me? Think he's better than Lambert and has made some fantastic signings, why am I not allowed to suggest he do something else? We could have easily lost to Sunderland, and possibly could have today if we'd not scored 3 goals in first half. Just something worth considering for next few games, especially with a busy period around the corner. I am very happy with today's result mind.
Swansea made it hard for us. They're a great attacking team in great form, and have only lost once at home this season before today. Clearly, Hughton will look at the goals they scored, but let's not be anything but over the moon at this great win; and 9 unbeaten on the trot.
Sitting in the car trying to get away from the stadium. My nerves are absolutely shot. Great game though.
