McCarthy Mick knows every trick In the `Local Derby Manual` But despite that, his record is matt In a two-legged playing-off duel Three times before he´s opened this door With Millwall, Wolves and Sunderland, Only to find he was undermined Each time by the opposing hand And internationally, whether irrationally Or not, he too found it tough, With the Green Isle, just once did his guile Over two legs, prove just enough While Mr. Neil, with youthful appeal Against all the sensible odds, With his one chance, led Hibs a dance To take Accies nearer the Gods So one might think, standing on the brink Of a ´Derby´ to outdo them all, That all the cards, are stacked in our yards Ready for us to have a ball But just beware, Mick´s lot are there Because they have qualities too, And also at stake is local heartache To rouse up both yellow and blue So talented youth versus long in the tooth Saturday, and one week from then, Should over two days, show in the plays Who´re the boys and who are the men. Great stuff RBF, I must admit I'm rather nervous about this, nothing is a given in these sort of games!
It´s certainly going to be a battle of wits off the pitch as well as on it, Dave, and McCarthy is no mug, but then A. Neil has so far proven that he isn´t either, when it comes to finding a tactical game plan. Think us having the home leg second will give us a slight advantage, but it´s going to be close.
Great stuff Rbf. One of your recent best I would say. I hope we target a win in the away leg and really take it to them. It's nice to have the home leg to fall back on, but the way we've been playing away (and conversely at home) recently makes me believe we can break the back of the tie at the Portaloo and hopefully save some of our nerves for the final!
