I can't get my head around the fact that Harry Redknapp was allowed to take a percentage
of all sales from the club.

    Surely this is completely wrong?

If your manager doesn't have the club's best interests at heart he could easily just offload
the players giving him the biggest percentage, regardless of what is best for the club.

If the manager plays it right, then he could surely argue his case quite plausibly, the chairman
wouldn't have the info to hand which could prove the manager wasn't just after the money.

If Pardew had just a 5% stake in our player sales he would have made a pretty penny from
just the Carroll sale, about £1.75m.

It wasn't just at Portsmouth either (which is about to go under again apparently, how much
could they have done with that money themselves?).

I would have thought the chairmen of all clubs would not tolerate this sort of thing, but Mandaric
saw nothing wrong, and neither did West Ham by all accounts.

Crouch was bought by Portsmouth and spent only 9 months at the club before being sold on for
a handsome profit. And look at the profit from the sale of Rio Ferdinand. It all stinks to high heaven.

I agree doesn't make sense on the face of it. I think it is just a means to an end. Redknapp and Mandaric having agreed a way whereby part of Harry's salary is effectively paid off of the clubs books and from Mandaric personally so that it can be paid offshore into a tax haven so that Harry can choose not to declare it for UK tax. Which he has done and been caught out.

But you are right it wouldn't be right for him to have any say in player sales.

The only way you should get 5% of player sales is if you pay 5% on all player purchases.

can't believe that a manager of a club would have a percentage of any of his players sales this would surely mean he has his interests at heart and not the club when it came to retaining players.it's no wonder he didn't put up a fight for those players the club sold, wasn't he manager of west ham when they sold the likes of cole, ferdinand, lampard etc.hope the twat goes to jail.
