Just read on the web that the new signing of the great unwashed failed a medical at liverpool before signing for them. We all know that Demba Ba has a serious knee complaint. My point is this - should we do what they're doing and signing quality players but with injury concerns ( taking a punt) or do we hold out for players who may not sign?

    Your thoughts?

Don't bother wumming cos I couldn't care less who the mags sign!!!!

You are taking risks, Brown has reoccurring injuries, Crouch would cost 10m and will have no resell value and N'Gog scores one in 6 on average. That's taking a punt on players Bruce likes

We obviously tried it with Mensah, so its not out of the question. However, given our recent injury dilemma, I wouldn't play too dangerously.

Newcastle are actually playing it safe abit. These players are costing nothing and they are taking out insurance policy's against their injuries. These policy's are really expensive, but nothing compared to the costs of signing players.

would've signed Ba in a heatbeat if fit however if we signed him, his leg would have dropped off on September the 1st the day after the transfer window had closed.

I think Ba will struggle for the skunks. I think we should try to bust the bank for Jay Bothroyd - I'd be really dissapointed if we haven't at least put a bid in, but I guess we'll never know. I hear now that he may be going to Liverpool.

It was his contract that was the problem and not his medical
