I've heard something regarding the takeover delay, I have absolutely no idea how reliable this is but it makes sense when you consider other things that are going on. I heard that Bates is holding out on signing off on the takeover because he's starting to think he can get promotion this season, apparently he phoned Colin to say as much, but Colin told him in no uncertain terms that he doesn't think that's possible. That would also suggest that Colin's comments about having no money could be intended to put more pressure on Bates to sell up and would tie in with the indications that the delay is coming from Bates' end.
Do you mean colin doesnt think its possible because we need to spend more money on players, money that bates has not got or is unwilling to spend ??
I think so. I think Colin is trying to get it through Bates' skull that he needs resources he isn't going to get from old Ken, hence why he came out last night talking about how he wants to improve the squad but needs more money (LIKE FROM NEW OWNERS MAYBE KEN) to do so.
Exactly what I have been saying for over a week now mate. All the signs are there and building up... We now know Becchio's injury wasn't bad so was the u-turn because NW knew he wouldn't get the funds to plough back into the team? The main suspicion for me was Snoddy talking to the new prospective owners who tried to get him to stay and he refused. So what did these buyers say, did Snoddy see the writing on the wall? That was closely followed by the new company details registered over two weeks ago followed by a silence and now when Warnock says he wants the icing on the cake players he is told he has to sell first. Just today on the Good Morning thread I said I was feeling quite pissed off about it all, I was hoping it was just me but now I also hear Bates is going to be writing programme notes - **** IT
I sincerely hope Elland Road is left empty until takeover is finalised. This is probably the last chance to force the old bastard out. Fans need to be united and stay away until hes gon, and he needs to be told so
On the topic of Snoddy, he was a complete prick last night. Falling over and shouting at the lino and ref all game, someone should have told him it was only a pre-season, or maybe that's the only part of his game that he works on.
Just get some of the 'wall fans who spend their sad little lives on here to email him. He will keel over laughing at their sublime humour and intelligence. Either that or they will bore him to ****ing death!
Probably hung over But seriously he was carrying a bit of attitude with him towards the end of his time here. I thought it was the arm band that was making him a bit more vocal. you got a good player there though and he is probably dying to impress as I bet Johnson & Howson had already sold him as a good player to the squad which maybe adding a bit of pressure.
