    No thanks.

You have about 590 totally irrelevant postings on it.

Looks like it’s happening soon, presumably converting Duchatelet debt to equity which is a good sign.
Curious that it’s £21mil though, I wonder why?

Interesting, the previous share allotment refer to 2017, could it be that year’s loss? No idea what it means though

As Midge Ure once said - this means nothing to me, oh Vienna.

So pop pickers, does this mean if I want to buy some shares in CAFC, 21 million odd are available at £1 each?
And if I bought them all, I would be the sole owner of the Club?

    No. I didn't think so.

The grabbing hands, grab all they can...
    :emoticon-0164-cash:
    Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise it's no surprise that they're giving none away, away, away...
    :emoticon-0164-cash:

Despite the doom-mongering and naysaying of some fans (Stockholm Syndrome?) I am going to be optimistic that this share business means the take-over is close to being completed.

Six years of Roland has been a rotten experience. For a supposedly clever guy he has behaved like an utter prat the whole time. He won't be missed.

Money by Pink Floyd, I like your style @lardiman. If these shares were offered to Charlton Supporters I would not bite, I lost thousands the last time.

Whichever way you interpret this news, it all points to the same thing ....the end game for Duchâtelet at Charlton. With January being so vital for us, it cannot come a day too soon.

Totally agree. It is all getting stupid on the Takeover thread on CL with certain posters already warning against the new owners. Reading Everitt's VOTV it is scaremongering at its worst. The prospective new owners have obviously not offered him a job.

That line I quoted is just about my favourite lyric from any song ever written by anyone :emoticon-0171-star:

When it comes to whole songs, 'Wish you were here' is my favourite Pink Floyd track (the whole album is probably my favourite too),
The second best song ever written I think. Only just pipped by the Beatles 'A day in the life'.

'Four seasons in one day' by Crowded House,
    'Sacrificial bonfire' by XTC,
    'Five years' by Bowie,
    That's my top 5 I reckon.

Sorry, off-topic I know. I'm seriously hoping the take-over is ratified now before the end of this coming week <ok>

This was the worry, and was guaranteed to happen. In my opinion Matt Southall hasn’t put a foot wrong so far. I saw him outside QPR with the Upbeats, he has talked to fans in Crossbars, he has engaged with all Charlton fans on social media. Perhaps that is the problem though ? Messrs Everitt & Hayes & Prague gloried in their sense of exclusivity for 10 years when Murray was busy wrecking the club.

If the new owners are as wealthy as predicted, they will quickly brush Everitt off as the loud mouthed obsessive that he is.

One of the reasons I don't visit or read CL much. It gets way, way too feverish sometimes.
Sorry to hear RE has turned against the new owners already. I was hoping for better from such self-appointed 'leaders' among fan opinion.

I'm willing to trust these new folks completely until they themselves give me reason not to. Not going to listen to prattlings.

You have got to give them a chance. It is no good pre judging them. Look at the welcome RD and Meire were given. People thought how wonderful they would be. Look what happened there.

A small handful of “fans” will never be happy unless we go back to the Golden Era under “Muzza” when feet were under the table, snouts were in the trough, and free nosh was scoffed on match days. Remember 10 years ago all the smug asides from Hayes & Prague like “we’ve been told this and we would love to share it, but” ....Everitt is just an oddball. No sense of humour or filter whatsoever.

Give them at least 12 months and then make a judgement on the new owners. They deserve a chance to show what they can do.

If self-importance is the only motivation of some agitators, they won't be able to spoil things for everybody else if nothing is actually wrong.

The feeling that rose among most fans against Roland wasn't just whipped up by a handful of activists. There were good reasons for it, and it happened fairly gradually. The mass protests due to the Fraeye saga were well under way when CARD suddenly popped up and took over.

We're a pretty tolerant bunch by and large.
Aside from a few who are looking for problems, the vast majority of Charlton fans are eager to give these new owners a fair chance I'm sure. New and different ways doesn't automatically mean trouble, especially when the old ways are the bizarre practices of the Belgian.

Once the last of RD's minions have cleared their desks and buggered off, the new crew should change the locks.

I thought you'd make a good drinking partner for Mr Everitt.
