I can only suggest that the continued delay in the takeover of the club can be attributed to CSI not wanting to take over the clubs ongoing liabilities(wages) etc when there is no revenue coming in beyond early bird season ticket sales. The parachute payments are largely spoken for and why invest in a business when it is generating little income? Could this be a reason for the delay and will we end up being taken over just before the new season begins and endure a mad running around to sign loan and cheap or free transfer players which will have no time to gel before the season starts. I am beginning to get a bit nervous.....is anyone else concerned?
Surely no serious buyer would pennypinch to that degree SB3? The medium term success of the club will depend on getting a decent squad and working together as a team in pre season. Given the threadbare squad you guys seem to have any owner needs to get in soon and get the squad sorted. if these new russians have the money, then they should be pushing ahead asap, but you know that. I fear you are right to be concerned, as the more likely scenario is that Chanrai is holding out for more money, or is looking to hold on to too many assets ahead of the sale - land perhaps?
I to am worried about the delay in the supposed takeover. Another thought with regard to your post olddellboy is, does BC or PFC actually own any of the land around Fratton Park? I think Gaydamak owns the car park, land behind the North stand and the area where the offices/shop were situated before the recent relocation.
i think it will be at the start of next month after all the contracts end and they have it all there layed out in front and can offer the out of contracts they want at a take it leave it!! and have a start afresh!!!
The lengthy delay in completing the sale is indeed worrying and depressing. Hang on in there though and have faith ! Things can't get any worse, can they ?!
This is the one thing that cost us badly the season we were bought. The delay meant we started without a real team and had to go out and buy first after the season had begun and then in the January window. Considering our predicament I thought that we did well in getting as close as we did to the play-offs. if your buy-out takes too long it could leave you with the same bad start and then a struggle to catch up. For your sakes I hope you get it sorted soon.
