I can't see the takeover going through until this current court case involving LUFC and West Yorkshire Police has been finally been resolved so that there are no outstanding issues for a new owner to tackle. Does anyone know how long the court case is expected to run for ?
Why do you think that? As I understand the case, LUFC have been paying the full rate, so there will be no money to pay out other than legal fees. And if we win, we should get our legal fees paid & cheaper policing costs in the future. If I've understood this correctly, then surely anyone taking over the club would be glad to see this action? Then again, I'm not very bright ........
I'm not saying that I disagree with the action that LUFC are taking, I think it's a good point and worth challenging in court but the point I was trying to make, was, if you were going to buy out and takeover a company, you would want any legal issues involving that company sorted out before you became the new owner.....
I would have thought the new owners could have said to Bates drop the case if it was something that did not interest them. I guess it depends on what the yearly difference will be, if it is a fair wedge I guess it could make a bit of a difference to the asking price profit/loss situation.
Expected to take five days, according to the YEP (last paragraph): http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....whites-police-dispute-at-high-court-1-4725464
