Would have been mate, but i don't think realistically we'd ever have had a shout. A player like that on a free was always gonna attract the superclubs, it's a great signing for Milan, as they've been saddled with the distinctly average and right footed Antonini. Antonini is no Maldini.

These sorts of players are way out of our reach at the moment. We can barely offer a top player the promise we wont be relegated let alone European competition? Horses for courses. There will be players we can and will attract but put any thoughts of international superstars well out of your thinking lads. It aint going to happen.
