Does Mowbray know that we can change tactics during the game?

We had a brilliant 10/15 minute spell in the first half where our movement & touches were great. Rangers soaked it up & Smith pushed them back 10 yards deeper to ensure we could not get beyond them with our pace - any balls over the top would run on to the keeper unless it was the perfectly weighted ball & run.

Mowbray refused to change our game & Rangers had nullified us after 35 minutes. Mowbray as always (even at West Brom etc) stuck to his guns of playing his way & hoping for a moment of genious or luck to unlock Rangers.

Again we tried to rely on giving it to McGeady & expecting him to beat everyone. When he got the ball the ball was usually too late, McGeady was static & had 2 men on him with no outlet. If he has 2 men on him its obvious that someone somewhere is free - but we never seemed to fathom that on the pitch or on the bench!!

With Rangers so deep I would have thought Rasmussens ability in the air & holding it up would have seen him come on quite early with Keane switching to the wing, but the guy who hit 2 in 2 is suddenly about 5th choice striker!!!

The second half we never really came out for - we should have kept the ball for 5 minutes to get the pressure on Rangers but they settled the quicker & we never really got in to it for spells.

To top it all off when he did change things he bought on Samaras <doh>

Totaly agree with the Rasmussen point we where second best in the middle of the park the big man coming on would have given us another option and allowed us to push out and perhaps stopped rangers being able to dominate the midfield as they would sit deeper to prevent us getting on the balls Rasmussen might have knocked down.

Agree 100% on Rasmusson - ****s a goal getter and can hold the ball up

We seemed to be playing the ball long to Samaras when he came on. Samaras is worse in the air than Brum would be

It's the same thing that drove me crazy about Strachan he sticks with his pals and others dispite form don't get a look in, we badly need someone to do the ugly stuff in the middle of the park what happend to the Lawson guy or Grant?

Nguemo is not a bad player, I quite like him....but sometimes I feel we need a big dirty bastard in the middle of the park. I couldn't care less if he could actually kick a ball straight, a big **** off lump who kicks the **** out of everyone around.

Nguemo is good player who can stick in a good tackle.....but he doesn't do enough of it for my liking, doesn't seem to be mobile enough to get around the pitch.
