So this season i have been happy with the 4-2-3-1 we have played in general although i feel we all share the opinion in that we dont have a plan B or C.

Soo my Plan B for the bigger games where we have to be more defensively sound this may seem crazy to some of you but i think it would work just fine. I would set us up in a 4-3-3 formation back 4 picks its self apart from the rb slot but in midfield i think we could deploy Vermalen as a Dm sitting infront of the defence playing simple passes to ramsey and hopefully Fabregas. With Ozil and Theo being deployed on each wing and the striker god knows who we will get.

My plan C would be a simple 4-4-2 with us playing counter attacking football at its finest similar to how we played during the invincible's with this formation i would deploy Cesc and Rambo in the centre when one goes foward the other stays back simple i think they can both go forward and defend well enough for this system. with Santi on the left wing and Chambo on the right with Theo and Giroud uptop the pace getting forward that we will have will surely blow teams away.

guys please let me know your thoughts and alternatives thanks.

We've played 4-4-2 a few times now with Sanogo and Giroud up front. I quite like it actually as it allows Giroud to bring others into play. When we switched to this in the cup final it was what created the chance for Ramsey to score <ok>

ok i propose a plan D. plan D is to defend for the first 20 ****ing minutes of every away game against anyone from top 7 teams.
from plan D we then move to plan C - to counter attack for next 70 minutes of every away game against anyone from top 7 teams.

if we implement plans D and then C then perhaps we won't get our asses kicked and concede shed loads of goals and points to teams we are competing for a place in top 4, and hopefully would mean we are in a position to get a point or 3 from these games.

for all other away games we start with plan C from outset and continue till we are winning then we revert to plan D.

for home games with teams from top 7 we start with plan A - which is to keep it tight in first 10 minutes, then to expand our game and go on the attack. then when in lead revert to plan D. if plan A doesn't work we then have plan B which is to add another striker and go for win and then when in lead to revert to plan D.

this is a simple solution based on watching how other teams play against us at times !

at the moment we have only one tactic, that is to start the game and see how we go, and if we concede early then stand around like startled rabbits and let in another as soon as possible.

also can we please please please go to man marking at corners and free kicks, or if not can we please not make Santi Cazorla [our shortest player and seemingly the shortest player in the league] mark anyone as he always seems to get the tallest player on the pitch. i would suggest that is a job for BFG.

just a thought - let me know what you think

plan j , 2 defenders do star jumps on the goal line next to Ches , for the first 15 mins of any game .

what wrong with that tactic ?

    Nothing ........

Playing 4-4-2 is a non starter for us when playing against a team with 5 across the middle.

We need to win the midfield possession battle, because we play the ball through the midfield and don't whomp it over the top. If we lose the midfield, bad things happen like when we were away at Liverpool, Chelsea and City.

If we play another team playing a 4 man midfield, or who have gone defensive, then it is Ok.

I think the tactic we will see a little more next year is perhaps a bit more counterattacking. Ozil provides us with good pace and control to make that happen and I can see us building a more robust effort in that department.

    4-6-0

Drop Sanogoal and OG for players who can score. Pod and Theo certainly outscore them for minutes on the pitch and we have other more creative players.

    Szcz
    Jenko/new RB
    Kos
    Mert
    Gibbs/Monreal
    Flamini
    Ramsey
    Pod
    Cazorla
    Ozil
    Theo
