    With Chester & Evans on 4 bookings each, whats the odds on them both being booked against Derby enabling them to use the Ipswich cup game as their suspension!

    I thought the suspensions would apply only to the league?

    If not, we'll have to make sure we don't do a Beckham. Get injured, snap someone to get booked, then brag about how clever you are and be rewarded for your cockiness with further punishment <doh>

    I think the five card suspension becomes a ten card suspension at new year

    Suspensions apply to the player's next competitive domestic matches, whether these be in league or cup competitions

    I don't think so, as someone else said the number of cards is raised to 10 from 31st Dec so they are still on 4 each

    So if you're on 4 cards now you can get another 6 before a 1 match suspension? What if you're on 1 card are you then allowed another 9? I'm confused.

    What happens is at the start of the season you get punished as follows:

    5 yellow = 1 game
    10 yellow = 2 game
    15 yellow = 3 game
    etc

    There are dates selected in the season when they remove the 5 card ban, and 10 card bans. The 5 card one used to be at the end of January or in February but somebody said they've brought it forward to December 31st. At those dates the players keep the cards they've already collected. As of now the punishments are:

    5 yellow cards = a warning from the FA
    10 yellows = 2 game ban
    15 = 3 game
    etc

    So yes, if a player was on 4 cards it means they now get to collect another 6 before being banned, and someone on one card gets another 9.
