So is it too tacky to wear Liverpool shirt to a Chelsea vs PSG game on Saturday? (Obviously I'll be cheering for PSG) Last year at Liverpool vs AC Milan I saw several United shirts... But that doesn't mean it's not a tacky thing to do.
Yes yes it is. If you were pictured with zlatan for instance the internet might call you plastic per a kid in a chelsea shirt at man city's game v roma.
Should go as Zlatan. Fake nose, little twaty beard, girly wig and a petulant attitude and you've got it nailed.
Inclined to agree, I occasionally wear one when going to anfield, but normally just a branded polo. Unlike classic cotton rugby jerseys, the nylon and modern look of footie shirts makes me look like a 14 year old
'Grown men' wear football shirts at football matches - go in your Liverpool shirt, wear it with pride. As it's Chelsea, you wouldn't be out of place wearing your shin pads either .......
No. Last game over here No one bothered the United fans (that I saw) despite the crowd being 80%+ people supporting Liverpool. Football fans seem to be nice to each other over here, even rivals, we're so few and far between.
Such things never existed when I started watching footie. A red and white woollen scarf knitted by me mam was all I had. It's never seemed right to me wearing replica shirts, though I realise I'm very much in a minority these days.
I'm in that minority. I think adults wearing football shirts is highly suspect. You can just about get away with it if you're at the game. Anywhere else and it's a complete non starter. Having a name on the back is also an absolute no, regardless of whether it's your favourite player (who you will despise if he leaves your club for Manchester City to move to a rival) or, perhaps even worse, your own name / nickname (unless your nickname is Loser, then it would be appropriate). The same is true of people wearing rugby shirts. You don't play for the club, you are not a professional sportsman, don't dress like a child. Imagine how ridiculous the crowd at Wimbledon would look if they donned the same attire as their favourite tennis player or indeed the crowd at the cricket if they were in full England whites.
I remember Jimmy Greaves saying that he liked Formula 1, but didn't feel the need to wear a crash helmet and fireproof overalls while watching it.
So when you're playing this mafia game, do you all dress up like gangsters? Or do you wear your football shirts with the name Corleone on the back?
Which team you're on is entirely your own business. I don't play the game so don't know the rules. So to begin with you're all in civvies (or football shirts with no name on) and when you die you are laid to rest wearing a three piece suit, trilby and spats.
