To me this is a perfect tackle. Some seem to disagree if you look at the Twatter comments. So what is it, a great tackle or a straight red?
Might be perfectly timed in that clip but you won't be perfectly timing them tackles 9 times out of 10 Tbh that tackle didn't look 2 footed think Pepe just **** his pants It was from the side and studs weren't really showing Good tackle in this instance
Goes in with 1 foot though, 2nd leg is behind him. It's a perfect tackle for me, get it wrong and yes he's off but that's the chance you take.

Back in the 70’s and 80’s you’d get applauded for that tackle. Perfectly normal. Nowadays, however, it would be deemed reckless. He was lucky, some refs would have shown him red for it. Probably just as well the Spammers will never get into Europe.
I think he gets ahead of the player and takes it clean, Pepe should be booked for running into Cresswells legs. He could have hurt him.
He doesn’t endanger the player because he isn’t in the line of fire. Perfectly good challenge. Pepe fouled him by arriving late after the ball had gone.
Also I don’t think it should be called a tackle. That term should be reserved for situations where one player is in possession and the other is trying to win it. This was a loose ball.
