No not the acid variety from your youth but the over sized versions of your phone. I'm going to get myself one this Christmas to replace my laptop which is old and knackered after many years of use. No I wouldn't normally swap a laptop for a tablet because of the obvious spec downgrade but I just use the laptop for browsing now and have Netflix for TV and Spotify for music so storage isn't really an issue. So any tips on tablet buying? No Apple, max budget £150ish
Make sure you use a reputable dealer who has provided your friends with tablets in the past. The last thing you want to do is buy a dodgy tablet. This guy comes highly recommended.
Samsung do a good looking Notebook for about £160 but if you want a tablet have a look at the just out Amazon one for £50 as it has had good reviews I have a MacBook Air which IMO can't be beat but are so expensive (was a gift from wife).
Nexus 7 is looking good at the moment, I don't do Apple as I like to personalise and mess about with the layout.
Yep they seem good make and have good reviews online - have a gander at some reviews as some tablets aren't worth buying as processing speed and battery life are so ****
Battery life is a big one for me and I want the 38gb built in or expansion slot, the nexus is giving me the 38gb but no expansion but I think that'll be fine and the reviews on it are cracking. Hudl 2 looking good which is a surprise.
Hate Apple but have an IPad Mini. Got it second hand for £80 and its not bad at all really. Blows away every other tablet O have had bar the Xperia z tablet, which frankly, is next level (or was). Don't buy Samsung Tabs, they are cheap and absolute ****e. Poor screens and really under powered. Samsung make ****e.
Hudl 2 is very good, my youngest has one and he like its but Hudl 3 could be out soon. But as you are a dipper fan , just nick one PS Apple ipads are still way better but plebs are not allowed them
I have an iPad Air 2 - very pleased with it. In that price range I'd certainly check out Nexus and Kindle Fire.
My Hudl is bang on. It cost me 12 quid as it was on offer for 50 quid plus it doubled my club points. Best 12 quid I've ever spent in my life. Not sure on the Hudl2 though
The best tablets in the history of Man, are the ones that God used to inscribe the 10 commandments, for Moses. I'm not sure where you'd get them, though. I hope this helps.
Thanks for all the (serious) replies, I'm settled on a Nexus 7 at the moment seems to be the best tab price combined with performance.
By the way avoid the nexus 7, they are slow http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/cheap-tablets/tesco-hudl-2-vs-nexus-7-tablet-comparison-3588983/ http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/tablets/1401631/tesco-hudl-2-review-the-best-budget-tablet
Battery life a big issue on the Hudl 2 but other than that there's nothing between it and The Nexus 7 with the Hudl being better on pretty much everything but not by a lot. Might come down to price and that's where the Hudl2 is going to win anyway.
