I couldn't help but notice that we haven't yet seen one of those tables within tables that Sky often show to compare the fortunes of the teams at the top against one another. So, I've done one myself. It's just a games played and points tally rather than a detailed breakdown (someone with more time and talent can add that if they like) but it's interesting. Bar City, nobody is dominating and everyone is taking points off of each other. This may go some way to explaining why the top is so tight. Notionally, Liverpool and United have the toughest run ins, Spurs and Arsenal the easiest. All to play for!

If you take out Spurs and Liverpool then it definitely shows how close the top 5 are.

If you take the Manchester clubs out and the London teams from Sam's, we're top.

You can mess around to your heart's content at: http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2014-2015/table - choose "custom table" and have a play.

The only table within a table that I really care about is: http://weekendfootball.co.uk/analysis/form.asp - it shows the table over the past 6 weeks (though you can change that). It's a good sense check after a set of results that feel bad as to whether we're really underperforming our peers or whether they are having the same blips as we are.
