Sorry to all those expecting to see Taarabt wow the championship again this year, I'm afraid he's as good as gone, Harry has said he's only trained twice since the start of pre-season. When asked will you sell him? 'someone's got to buy him!' Is if me or is Redknapp a moron when speaking to the press, he's basically told all interested party's that he needs to get rid of him, and therefore encourage low offers!
As for Remy he's hoping that he can get him training on Wednesday and fit for Saturday, (here's the good bit) 'if he leaves we need two more strikers' So he can see that Zamora and Johnson are useless.
Quotes: Redknapp said: “Joey Barton will play, Ji Sung Park and lots of them. Adel Taarabt trained the first two days and hasn’t been on the training pitch since. Will I sell him? Someone’s got to buy him. “I wanted to give players as much time as possible a chance to get fit, and rather than have them sit on a bench for 45 minutes (at Southend) this game gives them a bit more.” “I’ve got Loic Remy but I’m not sure what’s happening with him, and if he goes we need two more strikers. “Remy is not fit, but hopefully he’ll be back training Wednesday and might be fit for next Saturday.”
TBH if that's his attitude he no longer deserves to where the R's shirt & doesn't want to be anywhere near the first team as likely to damage morale.
Time to cherish the good memories and move on perhaps? (As the eternal optimist I am, I will live in hope that this whole sorry saga turns around though )
Unfortunately that's as far as it will go unless he wakes up to the fact that in order to succeed you have to put the work in. He's someone who can see that attitude stops him ever achieving his potential or dreams.
I think Harrys' comment reflects the bid by Stoke to get Adel on loan .......... Harry keeps saying that we don't want to loan out, we only want to sell them, which is fair enough.
Don't be silly Queens, if Adel goes we'll never hear the end of it, particularly if we're struggling. If we do well it's because of Adel, if we struggle it's because of everyone else...
Harry has lost the plot. It is clear that he doesn't want to be here. Every time he opens his mouth he loses more and more credibility. I wish that he would just fcuk off.
Yes, I completely agree. We all know Harry should act more & speak less but I still rather he be with us than not. Point being that if we are trying to get a player in, with the exception of Hooper, Harry still seems to have some pull over others. Still really pi-ssed about Hooper though. We had a player ( signed on big dollars) here in Oz, renege on a deal after signing it, consequently, his form dropped severely and he has played lower grades since. Justice, I say. Rant over.
Tough times. I accept. But HR has to show tough love to Adel Taarabt. If he's not trained then he's not putting himself in the shop window to go anywhere. When he sorts himself out, he'll no doubt come back to training with a contrite attitude. HR has to play the long game on this one. In the meantime PB will be levying fines. In fan's minds he may as well be considered injured, returning at Christmas. The output is largely the same. He won't be anywhere near the starting line up anytime soon. I like this approach though. It's very clear. Leveraging the club's position by standing firm on Joey Barton and not getting sentimental over Adel Taarabt or Jamie Mackie is exactly what is needed. The collateral damage hurts, I accept that. But it's a necessary process. We need to trust HR, PB and TF on this.
Well each to their own and its a stand off ... One which I hope Adel wins and finds his football again. He is a great talent and stats which I could publish will show that he did well for us last year. He remains clearly the best QPR footballer to wear the shirt IMO And I have seen the lot first hand Harold has played his part in the mismanagement of this
Well said sku....I adore Mackie and Tarbs for our Championship season...but that was then, this is now. Mackie always tried (so although I was very sad at the parting, I do not think Jamie had much more to offer us)....but Tarbs is not meeting Harry even half way on this....so there is only one option. We keep saying we have restructure, but that includes the stalwarts...Hill and Derry....are still offering the club something...solid reliable bench players. So come on lets try and stay positive...and go with the flow. A solid unremarkable season, with no worries about relegation, and an indication of an upward trajectory...will suit me this year
Sensible perspective Beth, the only problem is mid-table means we'll lose as many as we win and the problem will come when we lose to sides we should be beating, expectations are being stoked up by Harry saying we have to go up. If we're not in contention by November I would expect Harry to be looking for an exit...
