QUOTE Oct 28, 2014 18:17 By Martin Lipton The Moroccan had been handed the chance to prove himself over the 'overweight' jibe but was a conspicuous absentee from the R's Under-21 clash Adel Taarabt appears to have signed his QPR death warrant â after pulling out of a youth game planned for him to prove his fitness. Loftus Road chief Harry Redknapp had offered the Moroccan an olive branch following a week of angry retorts over the midfielderâs condition and managerâs training methods. Taarabt and Redknapp were both publicly reprimanded by owner Tony Fernandes for the "embarrassment" their ruck had caused the club. But speaking after Mondayâs vital win over Aston Villa, Redknapp insisted Taarabt "can still play a part in the future if he gets himself fit". The Hoops boss added: "All I ask people to do every day is come in, train, be thankful for being a professional footballer and work hard. "If heâs fit and ready to play, heâs a great talent. Weâve got a game for the reserves and him and one or two of the lads will get a game. Thatâs all I want him to do - get himself fit to run like the boys did." Instead, though, Taarabt - who is understood not to be injured - was a conspicuous absence from the under-21 side that drew 2-2 with Swansea at the clubâs Harlington training ground. No explanation for Taarabtâs failure to play was forthcoming from Rangers last night, with the club declining to make any comment on the matter. Instead, QPR insisted that Redknapp would be prepared to address any questions about Taarabt and his non-participation if asked about it at Thursday's press conference ahead of the West London derby with Chelsea. UNQUOTE Taarabt better have a fc uking good reason not to have played in this...
This goes back to something I said in reply to a DT post. No matter how good he is if he can't see the wood for the trees, then he's worthless and just a drain on our resources. Don't see anyone wanting to buy him either. Will just rot somewhere till his contract is up, or we sell him on the cheap to just get rid of him. Shame when you think how we all felt that championship winning season.
Should we maybe give him ANOTHER chance then...? He needs to really have decent excuse for this one (which he may well have) or needs to have another club lined up pretty quick. After the replies he put bck at Harry, its put up or shut up time... I know what my money is on... Gonna be even funner watching peope defend him again
Someone can have all the talent in the world but if they act like this guy I would most likely not give them the time of day. All I can say is it's a crying shame and a bloody waist of talent. Life owes us nothing. We only get out of life what we put in. we reap what we sow...
Fair play Col, I only know what I read on here or by some lazy blogger or part time journo. The thing is I only seem to read too much negative stuff from different sources about Adel than I do positive. I'm not an expert and do wish this has a happy ending with Adel showing us on a regular basis what we all know he can do!
No, and thats what i said. He may well have an excuse, but after the past week it needs to be one of the best excuses ever put forward Surely he cant have f**ked this opportunity up AGAIN...can he ?
Majority of the posters above are idiots… It says he was conspicuous by his absence but there is zero suggestion that he was asked to play and or refused to play. There wasn’t one single senior player in the squad!! You could just as easily say, Clint Hill, Matt Phillips or Alex McCarthy or Brian Murphy were also conspicuous by their absence… Why aren’t you slagging them off? Add to this the fact it was said he was out of the squad on Monday due to illness. Good chance he isn’t able to start a game the next day If news comes out on Thursday then there is a story and you can have a pop but at the moment your just sad little men who have wanted him to fail for a long time and jump in to moan and slag him off at even the slightest chance
The fact that I don't give a **** about Adel does not make me an idiot. This is a guy who has not hidden the fact that he does not want to play for our club. When he went on loan to our local rival he slagged us off because he for he was shot of us. He is now back and he still can't be arsed. Yes he could be one of the best player we have had in years, but he can't be bothered. So who is the idiot not me
Why dont you read what i have actually posted above then decide who the idiot is My appologies if you didnt mean me but after Harrys win (grow up and deal with it) i just guesss you prod did.. Thanks for being the only person on our board who isnt an idiot and knows all about football...
Lets see what is said on Thursday but that seems quite clear to me that he was expected to play. There may be a good reason he didn't but we all know there is every chance that there isn't a good reason too.
To be fair i really don't think Adel would be in my starting eleven for this game any way. I get the felling we will be parking the bus. Lets hope we can do it a bit better than we have.
Would bet a shirt button on what goes at our club at the moment. Better chance at predicting numbers for a lottery jackpot.
Why shouldn't people make assumptions? You do on other threads. If it reinforces your point of view then it is fine in your eyes. If others make assumptions that don't fit in with your views then you call them idiots! Can't have it both ways.
It's all happening on a Thursday again - how exciting. Much as I love watching Adel with a football, I think HR can come out of this in a strong position - he's already laid the groundwork. Imagine his press conference if it went along the lines:- Nothing has changed - if Adel wants to play then he needs to get himself into training and prove himself worthy of a place. When he does that, he will be considered. If he wants a move, it's down to him - get himself fit and show everyone what he can do. We won't be dropping our valuation of him so he needs to train properly and play in order for him to be worth his valuation. We've supported him, we'll continue to support him but he needs to do his bit to secure his dream move and that will have to include helping Queens Park Rangers in the process. That would be an irreproachable statement without personal agenda and just asks the basic levels required to serve AT's own interests. He probably wouldn't need to answer questions again on the subject whichever way it went (or just keep saying that the situation is the same).
