Big interview with Adel in the Times. Sorry lack the technology to paste it in. Rapid sum up - he likes Hughes, thinks there are too many 'characters' in the team, has 'no problem' with Joey and would clearly prefer to be in Paris. The interview is sympathetic to him, all behavior excused because " he has had an agent since he was 11". I'm all for free speech but could have done without this at this particular moment.
This is from the South Africa Times I think. They seem to have got the table situation all wrong, so the rest of this is probably b*ll*cks as well: ""QPR play maker Adel Taarabt has credited manager Mark Hughes with his good form in the latter part of the season, and feels that if the R's avoid the drop it will be down to Hughes. ------------------------------------------------------------ Taarabt has scored some important goals since his self-imposed exile in France at the end of last year, and is grateful for Hughes' support since his return. The Morocco international told The Times: "I was in France for two months after the season started. I told (the club) I would look after myself in France. That is what I have come back from. "But when Mark came in (replacing Neil Warnock), it was different. He said he would never tell me off if I lost the ball, because he wanted me to produce some magic for the team. "People respect him. He has changed me. "I will give everything for someone who I feel is supporting me. I want to stay up for Mark." Their season has not been an impressive one, despite the amount of money pumped into it by owner Tony Fernandes, and staying in the top flight will be as much down to other teams dropping the ball as QPR doing well. The former captain added: "We are a normal team, but with so many big personalities. That is why it has been a difficult year. "And that is why, if we stay up, it will be the best job Mark Hughes could ever do. "He could go to United and win the league and it would not be the same as keeping QPR up. This would be his greatest achievement." Rangers must beat Manchester City on Sunday to avoid relegation, though a draw will do the job if Bolton lose to Stoke. If Rangers beat City, and Manchester United win or draw against Sunderland, the Red Devils will successfully defend their title. ""
Time we got shot of this egotistical twat. Who does he think he is? Not losing the ball? That's the whole point! Very poor character having a go at COLIN like that after all he did for him. Hasn't made the step up to Premier League like Mackie and Hill have. Time to move him on.
That's to bring COL out of hes lair Ozzie. What's the chances of making his ignore list before Sunday?
I like to keep a balanced view Swords but your loathing of Taarabt is just plain nuts. We know he is egotistical and clearly a little short of the gray matter. But he is still a great footballer and could go on to be one of the very best with the right guidance. Are you Warnock in disguise?
No because COLIN loved him too. Did everything for him and look at the way he repays him. These punks don't deserve such a job. Hes so ungrateful that lad.
May be mate, but without him we would have zero creativity. Who would you be looking to replace him with?
But he didn't have a managerial relationship and hence AT didn't respect him and took the piss! MH has given him his role and set clear expectation. You'd never have seen him chase back and win the ball three times in the corner for Colin and he never grumbles at MH.
I truly believe Taarabt is maturing into a fine player at this level and the best is yet to come. Hopefully with us.
Agreed, I personally think he has been very average this season, but since MH and team came in he has improved no end. If he's still here next season (not bothered) under MH, he could be a very good player....
Queenslander, what's come over you; paragraphs, spelling, punctuation, the works. You've really gone downhill and overnight too. Are you sure you're the same bloke, or is it another imposter......
But he was saying last season that COLIN changed his life and that he was the only Manager that respected him. The going gets tough this season and he stabs him in the back. With respect '74, you finding it funny that one of our footballers took the piss when he was supposed to be doing his job for the Club is astonishing. The lad should be ashamed of his conduct. Let him go. Let him be someone else's spoiled brat.
Don't find it funny at all so sorry if it came across like that. In fact I was outraged but that was the relationship they had. My point was AT didn't respect Colin so did what he did and there was no comeback other than Colin laughing it off. MH wouldn't have stood for it and now AT knows his place....that is management and I think he benefits from it!
