22-year-old admits he has received offers from big Premier League clubs but wants to play week in week out at Loftus Road rather than sit on the bench at a top four side By Will Jardine 16 Jun 2011 13:48:00 Adel Taarabt has declared he would like a move to one of the big four in the Premier League but admits he would prefer to play every game for QPR than sit on the bench at Chelsea. The midfielder was instrumental in QPRâs promotion to the Premier League and was named Championship Player of the Year for his outstanding match winning performances. His fine form has reportedly led to interest from some of the country's biggest clubs and Taarabt told Football365.fr: âI like the London clubs. I do not hide my like for Chelsea. âI would prefer to play regularly at QPR to being on the bench for a season at Chelsea. Now, if they told me I'd play 20 games per season, I think I'd be very tempted.â Taarabt was asked if he would like a move to a big club in England, and if there had been any contact with another club. He replied: âIt's currently what I'm trying to achieve. Today, I have two year contract with QPR. "Yes, there is contact but I cannot say more, as you can imagine.â The midfielder also spoke about a move to Arsenal to join fellow Moroccan Marouane Chamakh. âThe idea is very appealing. Especially since there is also Samir Nasri, who I know very well. But after that, there is a real possibility of playing the minimum.â The 22-year-old scored 18 goals in 44 games last season and Rangers will be hoping to stand a good chance of surviving next season if he is to stay at the club.
Putting emotions to one side for a moment, we might get more for him now, when he has two years left on his contract, rather than in a year's time when he has only one. Was he quite so effective in the latter part of the seaon when the Championship club's knew all about him and what to expect? And now the emotion: he's probably the most exciting player at QPR since I last played and he might be the difference between relegation and staying in the Prem.
If he were guranteed playing 20 games a season I wouldn't have any hard feelings if he left, even if it were to Chelsea. Fair play to him he came to us to try and gain a big money move. No matter what he does he'll go down in legend. However I'd love for him to stay and thankfully he recognises the value of first team football.
Was he quite so effective in the latter part of the seaon when the Championship club's knew all about him and what to expect? Ask Cardiff !! he's probably the most exciting player at QPR since I last played and he might be the difference between relegation and staying in the Prem... For all your talent, tricks and majesty, Rodders, we sunk from the top flight like a lead ballon when you last played - and things only got better after Stanley arrived !!!
Adel looked awesome in the championship HOWEVER looking at the job Robbie Savage did on him shows that he can be taken out the game. He'll meet better players than Savage every game next season, no doubt have tantrums galore and find life harder. NW seems to be able to handle him and he's better off staying with us, at least till January. By then, we'll all know how good he really is at the top level.
So what the cock is reportedly saying is, he'd rather play 20 games for chelski than play 38 games for us (barring any injuries, suspensions, hissy fits etc) let him go, he'll be more of a concern than bollard getting injured - and I'm no bollard fan. I'd rather adel decides now what he wants to do this year and just does it. He's done a job for us, and I'm thankful for that but we got promoted as a team. If he wants out, do it now while there's money to be had from from. Apologies for coming over all cosa nostra.
If he wants to play for a "bigger" club then let him go. What we don't need is someone who is not committed to the cause.
Time for NW to have a quiet word to ol big head and tell him to shut the fluck up.Get the mafia to take him out thames seem s the best bet.
