...for the B team. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/3...-makes-benfica-debut-after-leaving-qpr-for-t/ Expect to see him back at Loftus Road in January if Warnock is made manager. Only joking. Warnock is a miracle worker to have got him playing for us and the best out of him for a year.
Nooo! I agree that he was a proper ****er but I'm talking about attitude to one's career and application of themselves. either Taarabt doesn't care or is ****ing stupid.
Robin Friday Adel is evidently ****ing stupid. Creates an interesting dichotomy with fans though. Anyone who has seen even glimpses of his talent wants to see more and gets wound up by his stupidity and attitude. The Milan fans I was talking to last Saturday were exactly the same as many of us, and they have a fantastic word for it in Italian - 'magari' - roughly the same as 'if only.......'. If he was an average player with that attitude no one would give a toss. Actually Robin Friday is a very apt, given tonight's opponents, and even more extreme example, before your time though I think.
Well he was a PLAYER. What an attitude he has and what an absolutely great player he was but if only....Mind you if i remember correctly he was on trial with QPR as a youth. He would have suited well to us. Unlike taarabt ive heard he always gave hundred per cent in both training and matches.
7 DEC 2015 - Ex Tottenham & QPR Adel Taarabt takes a truly appalling corner for Benfica B (Video) Adel Taarabt has done his reputation no favors here! The former Spurs, QPR & Fulham man, who went to Portuguese giants Benfica this summer, took one of the worst corners of all times for their B side. So bad, a sarcastic applause went out from one of his teammates, who was waiting for the ball to arrive in the box. The Moroccan has been relegated to the B team of Benfica and the clip below shows why. Though, he did play well in this game and helped Benfica secure a win against Sporting B. http://www.thickaccent.com/2015/12/...a-truly-appalling-corner-for-benfica-b-video/
I always thought the appropriate nickname for him would be 'Period' ...... cause he'd only turn up once a month.
If you've not read the Robin Friday biography, 'The Greatest Footballer You Never Saw', I'd strongly recommend.
I'd still not give up on Adel. Stranger things have happened, but he could be lured back by JFH who by all accounts is earning a reputation as a fine man manager. Imagine that. Adel Taarabt and Ravel Morison pulling the strings in midfield.
Anyone who thinks Adel is the answer to our prayers is deluded. His one-season-wonder was five years ago, he's done Sweet FA since, neglected his awesome talent and, frankly, deserted us when we needed him at his best. Even Aussie's 'Period' joke would be an exaggeration, if only he'd turned up once a month. He's ended up a sad parody of a player who should have been on the same stage as Messi and Co if he had even a modicum of the work ethic you need to succeed...
Hollywood star Sam Claflin to play Cardiff City hero Robin Friday in new film http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-east-wales-32720391
George Best. A player who was the very best (as opposed to someone who thinks he is) and threw that away.
