And here is the info section on the back of the leaflet requesting £3 of everyone which apparently will be enough to pay for the Judicial Review. Notice the names at the bottom who are behind it: Daniella Radice & David Willingham. Also notice where they want cheques delivered to.... Pearces Hardware store! I guess they will lose some business from gasheads!

When I seen this I did burst out laughing! I think this has done them more harm than good!

How are people allowed to apply for a Judicial Review if they dont even have the funds in place to fund it and are begging the local community for money???????????

and all the misleading info they are quoting!

remember the reason why TRASH was doing the judicial review?? was it about the potential harm to the high street shops? was it about the pollution in the area? NO!

the reason why TRASH are seeking a judicial review is because the process wasnt 'apparently' followed properly. the deadline for planning was 11/01/13 but sainsburys made changes to the access road on 08/01/13 and apparently didnt do any consultation on it. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON!!

so why is their leaflet showing pictures of the high street shops closed down and the use of gas masks on kids and a woman? why are they banging on about the harm to the high street and the pollution??

they are misleading people and begging them for money at the same time!

Sorry to intrude, just had a five minute look, there's some major bullshit in there, looks like some guys have tried to research greenhouse gases and some of the finer points of EU law and missed by a million miles. That thing about losing 8 months of your life is because of all pollution and isn't linked to building a new supermarket in any way. Their (free!) website is even worse with piles of guff about some kid with asthma and other handwaving about nitrogen dioxide, a quick google shows that Bristol is about half of EU limits, so that's a lie. Virtually no sources or evidence on their site. Could be worth someone doing some fact checking and firing off a complaint to the ASA. But it will take a lot of 3 pound donations to get a judicial review <laugh>

thanks for taking the time out and looking into this! it is pretty dumb. i have no idea why they are banging on about the high street shops closing and the pollution. this was all dismissed when planning permission was given. the only thing their lawyers can find to seek a judicial review is that sainsburys changed some minor details to the plans just a few days before the planning permission meeting which was done without consultation. apparently this is enough to apply for a judicial review. now i must add that sainsburys changed a lot to their plans throughout the whole consultation process - all to please the locals and the changes that were made at the end were again to please locals but as it was done without a consultation their lawyers say the council should not have given the go ahead. now we have to wait 12 weeks or so for the courts to accept the judicial review.

i think its totally wrong that anyone can seek a judicial review without even having the funds in place 1st to pay for it!
i think its totally wrong that they can beg for money from locals promoting the high street and pollution as their reason for wanting the judicial review even though their lawyers say the only thing they can do a review on is the late changes without any consultation.

they cant and wont win this. the judge will see all the facts and see what they are trying to do. all they are doing is delaying the project and it will have some cost to the tax payer which in this climate were in is totally unacceptable.

in the leaflet they bang on about its the MAJORITY who dont want sainsburys and they provide stats on how many people signed the petition to verify they are the majority. here is a comment from someone from another forum....

"According to the councils own figures from it's 2011 census there are 13,871 residents living in Bishopston, 12,827 in Horfield, 10,402 in Henleaze and 12,080 in Lockleaze. These are the 4 wards that surround the proposed development. That's 49,180 residents yet their total signatures on their petition was 6,550. I'm not sure in what universe that counts as the majority (I make it approx 13% which is some way short of a majority), particularly when many of their signatures didn't come from those 4 wards!!"

Majority my ass <doh> again more evidence that their leaflet is just made up bull****!

they got no chance me thinks so im not worried but it is frustrating that they are allowed to delay things based on lies and total crap. the stuff in these leaflets about sainsburys is damaging to the sainsburys name and doing it with lies. i hope sainsburys go to town on them :)
