Bates still wants a deal, he has been fighting a complete buyout, but now seems willing to sell...on his terms. Problem is new owners want to pay a lot less than Bates wants. Harvey off to Monaco to present new proposal to Bates and consider offer.

The most important point is that Bates is finally WILLING TO SELL. Even if this bid fails, its out there that Bates will sell at the right price. Takeover not off just yet, wait until it is officially announced. Bates rolling the dice to see if he can get the offer closer to what he wants, up to consortium to come up with the goods. Can't understand LUST statement, wouldn't look good if takeover agreed in next few days. Oh, of course, silly me... they would claim their "announcement" made the deal happen. Erm, no! Only thing to make the deal happen is consortium up their bid and Bates agrees. Could be that consortium isn't as financially flush or aggressive as we'd like them to be.

Sorry but IT IS OFF. To be honest I was never sure there was ever any deal, just expressions of interest and then a band wagon by members of LUST and the media, what ever the truth will come out eventually. Time to move on and think of the next move, I would have expected LUST had been planning for this eventuality and will now go to plan B.

They did state as much a couple of weeks ago.

They were ridiculed for it on JA606.

    Harveys back now isn't he?

Surely plan B will be another bid? I'm sure there was more than one on the table <ok>

That's not a very good Plan B, if that is what they plan. Bates has shown he doesn't deal with things in the normal manner and will change his thoughts on a hourly basis, it is therefore unlikely any business would wish to deal with him, especially as it will cost them money for even the basics. Need another strategy that the majority of Leeds United supporters can buy into and support.

Agree. I'm sure there statement when released will not bode well for Bates. Bates needs to know he cant milk us anymore and selling up is his only way out. Lets just hope he doesn't wreck the club on the way out as he has already divided the fan base & killed the home support.

Its perfectly clear the only way Bates will go is if hes forced out. If you want to get rid of rats, the best way is to starve them and theyll move on in search of food. Starve Bates of the only thing that motivates him .... money

This stunt was all about 'encouraging' the supporters to go & renew their season tickets & buy merchandise in the club's shop.
