Muse formed in 1994, apparently, Oasis in 1991.

So what "Impact" have TSR made? What exactly do you mean by "Impact" and how is it measured?

    International Success? None.

They were 16 or 17 at the time and they were influenced by Radiohead amongst others so it took them a while to develop their own sound. I don't know how many bands are out there just now who have been influenced by Muse, hence - early days.

What kind of 'success' did a band like The Stooges or Husker Du have? Their impact AND influence are light years ahead of either of the 2 bands being discussed.
The Stone Roses have had far more of an impact on people who were around at the time because it was part of something greater. Muse are just a **** band that you happen to like.

**** me. Thanks guys, I've been feeling a bit old at 31 recently, but you old bastards have made me feel like an 18 year old! (still too old for Huth mind you...)

You realise how much of an old boring **** half of you sound by writing off bands as "****e" just because you don't like their music?

Muse are one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Foo's were pretty awesome as well. Some of the performances at TITP I've seen like Eminem, Prodigy, Faithless, Jamie T, Temper Trap, The Streets, Paolo Nutini have been ****ing brilliant!

Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing Temper Trap, The Enemy, Rizzle Kicks, Pro Green and Happy Mondays just for the ****s and giggles. Will probably want to see Kasabian too, as I went to watch Ash instead the last time they were on, and they were ****ing amazing.

I've never seen any of these popstars, mostly seen Anarcho Punk and Space Rock bands. Saw Chumbawamba playing to 2000 people years before they were on TOTP when they used to put out their own records. Conflict playing in a warehouse when they were banned from playing anywhere in the UK. Culture Shock's final London gig after what was meant to be the last one descended into a riot. Ozric Tentacles, Gong and the like in the Psychedelic clubs.

The thought of standing in a crowd of tens of thousands shouting "**** you I won't tidy my bedroom" to RATM and the like has zero appeal.

Download for me this year. Mainly just to see Biffy Clyro and The Prodigy. There are only about 4 or 5 I like playing over the three days but my ticket is free and I'm sure I'll find something to occupy myself whilst the metal bands are on. TITP is quality and I'd like to have seen the Roses

The only live music I've ever seen was Roger Water do The Wall last year - ****ing incredible. Even without the rest of the band, the show was absolutely incredible.

Muse are pretty good, I'd like to see them live as well, but imo Radiohead are better
