I highly rate Szczesny and think he can be our number 1 for many years to come, and for the most part seemed to have solved our goal-keeping crisis. However so, since the start of the year, Szczesny's form has greatly dipped, and he is becoming a liability, particularly in his ball distribution. I don't understand why nobody has solved this obvious weakness in his game? His ball distribution, particularly, his kicks, are terrible, and have been putting us under pressure, one example would be Milan at the San Siro where he gave a **** kick, and from that Milan scored, and a whole load of other examples can be given in which we've been under pressure as a result of his very bad ball distribution.

Szczesny needs to get his game 2gether and has to cool that arrogance, yes, having confidence and arrogance is good, but only to a certain limit, he needs to realise he still has a lot to prove, and hasn't reached the blessed holy mother land. The fact of the matter is that if it we Almunia in goal making the amount of mistakes Szczesny has been doing (even the first goal against Norwich was a massive howler from him, so were the first 2 goals against Wigan, especially Wigan's second) people would have been livid, now I'm not calling for his head, rather I'm just pointing out that there is some cause for concern and hopefully he manages to pick his game up, maybe we need a new top quality goal keep coach (Jens Lehmann anyone?).

Chesney is decent but he is a bit of a liability. Hopefully he will calm down though and turn into a top keeper. We need to see some maturity and consistancy next year rather than commiting loads of blunders like this year.

Often this year he has got away with those terrible kicks he does (straight to their players) or when he decides to come out for no reason or when he tries to claim crosses and gets caught under the ball (which happens alot)

I think hiring Mad jens could be a mistake. We don't want Szczesny to be sent off for punching opponent strikers, it might hurt us a little.

Poor Jens, the only match he was sent off in for punching a player was the Spurs match, the one in which we won the league, so can we really bash him for that? Punching a Spurs player at WHL, that's top quality.

I'm not bashing him, i love Mad Jens, it's just he's not the sort of role model Chezzers should have.

He has all the components of a great keeper. All that is lacking is a bit of judgement. Being 22 years old, this is clearly something that will improve with age. So the way I see it, each season we'll have a better keeper than the one before, and seeing as he's already a very good keeper, the future is very bright.

  7. Jeez - stop with the Szczesny thing already. There are two players this year, that had they not been there, we would not even be close to getting 3rd. Szczesny and RVP. All keepers make mistakes, but seriously Szczesny has won us somewhere between 5-10 ponts this season from his saves at crucial times.

let the guy have 1 shocker, surely? He's turned around from being a mad sprinter, to quite a reliable keeper.
