He is out of contract at Wolves next summer and is looking for a move away from Molinuex in January. I have a mate who is a Wolves fan and lives up there and he has heard strong rumours that Ebanks-Bloke is the next signing to join the McCarthy revolution! Sylvan has family in Cambridge and would jump at the chance of joining his old gaffer and coach at Town. I think he would be a really decent signing for us and he is a proven goal getter at this level with plenty of pace, power and aerial ability. The perfect foil for DJ and Chopra.
uuummmm. Considering our penny pinching of late, its a nice idea but one I can not see coming off unfortunately. He might be a great foil for others but from the two you mentioned, 1 I cant see being here and the other I hope isnt here!
Certainly always thought he was a good player at this level and is only 26 but as tractorbhoy says I'd imagine he's on a fair wage. And the question is do we take a risk on someone who was good a few years ago but hasn't played alot recently for a club higher up than us? It sounds quite familiar to alot of our signings over recent years. If we do sign him, I don't think he'd be a foil for Chopra or DJ, all of them are of a similar type, he'd be more likely to replace them in the team IMO. He's another one like Chopra and DJ who I think would probably be at his best with a big centre forward next to him.
How many players have YOU and others moaned at Clegg about for failing to finalise the deal - bloody hundreds of them so I cant see how we have got a good chance of signing SEB or DJ when we fail to agree terms on Steven bloody Davies ffs. Having a promising manager does not change the fact that we have cut/cut/cut over the last few seasons. Until the club actually shows some signs of not being the tight sods they currently are then I will continue to stay very negative on all transfer links.
Its different now because Evans and Clegg know that MM will not take any of their crap and he will have insisted on there being money to spend on the players he wants. It would be extraordinary beyond belief if the club fails to back MM in the next transfer window!
Are you his agent? On the topic of ebanks bloke he is far too similar to DJ so it would be one or other for me and it'll probably end up as neither...
KoPR that's the sort of logic PTC would apply... we've got one great striker, on loan in fact, so we wouldn't want a similar one.. in case we score too many goals
If the club are insistent on sticking to FFP regs, which is the reason they have previously given for budget cutting then he wont have any chance of getting the money he wants If that was a lie/ cover up because they didnt want to give Jewell any cash then they are the biggest pair off idiots ever to have been involved in a profesional football team and have greatly hindered our whole clubs foundations. which also doesnt give me faith in them doing the right thing this time around.
Clegg has already come out and said that there will be money set aside for transfers in January so I don't understand why your getting your knickers in such a twist!
well DJ's loan finishes this month i think. So I'd imagine we'd only have space for him or SEB as both are probably on good dosh I would imagine it'll be unlikely we will be able to get either. I'd imagine we'll get Barnett though!!! I'd say we're more in need of signing Barnett that DJ or SEB (though both would be welcome if the finances are right) as we already have IMO decent goalscorers of similar ilk in Scotland and Chopra!!
You said I have strange logic. But then you manage to deduce from what tractorbhoy says that he thinks we shouldn't strengthen our squad in January, it is unbelievable!!
I think you should practice what you preech and actually read who sent this post in the first place mate!
Very very true, made myself look like a Lemon here!!! Apologies twice in 1 day JWM I'm going to put together a music video for you in the style of Nick Clegg!!!
