SWP: 'MORE TO COME' Posted on: Wed 14 Sep 2011 After Monday's man-of-the-match performance against Alan Pardew's Newcastle United, transfer deadline day signing Shaun Wright-Phillips has admitted that there is still more to come from him and his new team-mates. The former Manchester City attacker mesmerised the Loftus Road faithful with an impressive debut alongside four other new recruits in our 0-0 draw against the Toon and speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, he said: "It was nice to be back out there and playing again in the Premier League. "With the team playing the way they did and helping me settle in very quickly, that made it pretty easy. "At times we were just inches and yards away, but you've got to look at the positives. "It's the first game that we've all played together. I think we've done superb and I also thought the team defended really well." Wright-Phillips added: "I feel I'm a bit off (the pace) at the moment. "I need a few more games under my belt to get my match fitness and sharpness back." Despite the goalless stalemate at W12, the pacy attacker insists that the goals will follow. "As long as we keep playing like that and the better we get to know each other, then the better we're going to do," he said. "I think if we keep creating chances like that then we can get a few goals in the next few games." He added: "I think we've just got to take it one step at a time and win as many games as possible. "We need to just concentrate on staying up this year, which I think we're more than capable of doing." iReader
