After watching motd it's very clear that swp amazing goal was not offside, that would have changed the game for sure! Ffs! :'(
Sadly all too true Q.P.R. I didn't realise it was disallowed at the time, I was still jumping around, when I looked up they were playing on. Still 1-0. It wasn't until I was on my way home that I heard on the wireless that it was for off-side, but wasn't. Infuriating.
It wasn't even close to being offside. The Assistant Ref was on the other side of the pitch with 3 or 4 players in between him and SWP. Would have virtually been game over imo.
Yes it wasn't offside, and yes it may have changed the outcome, but honestly, if that's your thinking, we probably would have won 4-1 at least. We can't blame a disallowed goal for us not scoring again. HH should have had a brace, JB should have scored, as should have SWP, but they didn't. Brom didn't score until the 80th minute. So what we should be asking is: Why couldn't we score a given 2nd goal and kill the game off ? Defo need another striker, Betty isn't doing it for me...just now.
Sit in the Paddock and saw the linesman put his flag up very early, well before he shot. Haven't seen any replays on TV but maybe the WBA players stopped having seen the flag like we did. Shame SWP didn't put the other chance he had away.
No matter how p*ssed off we are it was disallowed, end of. Let's hope SWP takes the positive from it and hits the target more regularly from now on...
Hi Super, that was my view too. Many prev QPR games have hinged on such poor decisions. That will continue for as long as there is football. However, SWP is off the duck and with a very fine goal indeed. Hopefully that will help his confidence and enable him to convert some of those chances that will come his way. I think we all felt rather flat after that game but we now have to look forward to the Sunderland and Swansea game. I just have this crazy notion that we are going to draw 1 all with Man United but probably just a crazy hope. Not expecting anything at Anfield.
