Agreed ................. probably fair to say that we all tend to push some boundaries at times and I'm not saying what's right or wrong but he's been respectful on posts I've made and and I've appreciated some he's made, nothing more, nothing less.

I also have a great deal of respect for Swords Hoopster.

I value his balanced contributions. He's not 'one of the herd' - a free thinker, who forms his own opinions.

I'd happily sit a pint on the bar at the Coningham Arms and invite him to share a pre-match drink when he next gets the opportunity to visit W12.

Board would be a duller place without Swords and Flyer. Long may they continue to p**s each other off. We can all enjoy the voyeurism.

I don't need one. I have an entire board dedicated to me, but its by invitation only to keep out the riff raff.

I've boycotted the thread I started. They shouldn't have closed it when they did so they can't just reopen it when they like because they feel the weight of public opinion going against them.

I'm wise to their games. I've been on this Forum since its inception. I know every trick in the book.

Actually mate - as moderators, they can do just that. You don't have to like it, but they are free to manage the board exactly how they wish. They are choosing to do it in a democratic way rather than a strict dictatorship, which we would all prefer.

Bottom line - whether threads are open, closed, edited, stickied, or whatever, or whether members stay, go or are cast out into the darklands, is entirely up to them... so we have to accept that or find somewhere else to play our games.

You should reread what I said mate. They can lock things down all they want but just like a public figure in a position of power, if they make a poor judgement call that the people don't like, it doesn't be long before they're forced into an often humiliating climb down. That's what happens in a democratic environment.

That thread was reopened because comments on subsequent threads expressed dissatisfaction with the way that matter was handled. That is the democratic way. The way you described is actually the dictatorial way.

You've got it arse about face mate (not for the first time either....:emoticon-0114-dull:).

Without wanting you to start digging at me (and yes - not for the first time) - reopening the thread showed the democratic style. Had they NOT reopened the thread, and had they just ignored what people say, THAT would have been dictatorial. They didn't do that - however they could easily have done so, and that would also have been fine - their call.

At the end of the day, they can do what they like. If it's not what YOU like, then I'm sure by now (given the number of times it's been shown to you) you know which way the door is. I'm not saying you should leave, just highlighting that you probably know the layout better than most... :)

Indeed Willy. And I told you why they reopened it.

Dictatorial but fine in the very next sentence.

You're clearly either not reading what's written, or playing the WUM again, Swords.

As you well understand, the decisions made by the Mods - whether dictatorial, democratic, socialist, communist or nonsensical - are fine whatever they are, because they are the moderators and it's their job to manage the forum. I'm sure that if (god forbid) you were a moderator, you'd do it your way.

anyway - not getting drawn into your mind games again, mate - you're not the only one who knows all the tricks, and we've all got your number.
