Watching a fairly entertaining Japan v Ivory Coast game, but I'll get the next match threads sorted for much later today.

Gutted I'm going to be missing these games. They're all fairly unappetising but still, World Cup is World Cup :(

Whatever social, non-loner bollocks you're doing with yourself this Sunday afternoon, stop that nonsense and get yourself in front of a television this instant.

Right? I can only assume people who tune in to watch Switzerland v Ecuador are actually interested in Switzerland v Ecuador. Let's hear something about those two teams maybe.

Yeah I decided against watching an hour of pre-match build up on ITV. Seemed pretty unappealing.

Ottmar Hitzfeld is a terrific manager. No wonder the Swiss always qualify these days.

Just read that he is retiring after the World Cup. Tremendous managerial career: 7 Bundesliga titles; 3 German Cups; 4 League Cups; 2 Super Cups; 2 Champions Leagues (Bayern and Dortmund).

Those statistics are better researched than the ITV commentator's ambiguous facts and figures that he is spouting.

Isn't Jackson Martinez Columbian? Clarke Carlisle just said he couldn't get in the Ecuador team. That would be why Clarke. That would be why.

Clarke Carlisle talking about why Jackson Martinez cannot get in the Ecuador side. I can't imagine that being Columbian is too helpful.

Co-commentator wonders why Jackson Martinez can't get into Ecuador squad.

    I think I know why.

Think we were all posting at the same time. At least everyone knows that Martinez is Columbian now.

I think this has been the first time I have seen a Switzerland without a Frei in the side, they always seem to have one!
