I know many will have seen most of it in other sources, but this is all in one place and very interesting. A thing I didn't know is that our improved figures recently reported do not include the money for Lovren, Lallana and Chambers as their sale happened after the cut off period.
Finally got to the end of that report...interesting to see that although we owed 26 mill in transfer fees, we were owed another 10 million more than that from other clubs. Shows how accounts are very much pick and mix for the media if you have a point to make.
The most disappointing aspect is the Commercial side, we don't seem to make much effort to sell the Club as a product to the general public compared to the existing "bigger" Clubs.
This is supposed to be the area that Krueger is concentrating on...if he renews his contract (which presumably he is). I don't think Cortese didn't care....he was spread too thin because he wouldn't delegate.
Did Veho sign a one year deal? If so, now is the time to get a bigger, better deal from the next shirt sponsor. The positive press we have had this year is a great selling point.
That's not true. He did care. He just didn't have the resources at the time to make a significant push in the commercial area, concentrating on team success as the main priority. That's not, not caring. That's getting the basics right first.
He wasn't fussed about the commercial area. He wasn't fussed about selling the boxes. He was fussed with losing sponsership because of how he was to people. It's what I have been told by various people. They haven't got much wrong. So I tend to believe them. As a Director or whatever he was he responsable for the whole club. You don't concentrate on one area to let the others continue on life support.
And yet my friend who actually hears comments from players and talks to them outside the Campus and has hardly been wrong at all gets no credence whatsoever. You unconditionally believe Beefy if you want to, as I do once it's been through the filter of my source, who is just as reliable. For example, he spoke to Jay who told him he wasn't going to leave. And guess what..? It looks like he isn't.
It's not that I don't believe the person (I don't like calling people sources or itk) you talk to, it's that I trust the person that I talk to. Now and again sure they can be wrong as is every one, but I give them the benefit of the doubt until that is proven. The main thing for me is I see the person I talk to face to face. Were as the info you give is from behind a computer. So it is obvious who's word I would trust if mine and your views aren't the same. You could say the same about me as well and I am fine with that.
Yes, I quite understand your viewpoint Beefy. The same goes for me too. And it's not like I don't believe anyone on here or take what they say with a pinch of salt on matters of SFC fact or fiction. I just don't take it as the last word, as I'm sure you don't either. We use our sources and our filters. It's only sensible.
