Don't hold with that. If you want to attract decent players there needs to be money in the coffers and refunding 600 x £20 or whatever would leave a big hole. You always travel in hope to an away game rather than in expectation and you are forced to take the rough with the smooth. All part of life's rich??? pageant, I'm afraid. There would have been more of a case for refunding the money for last year's defeat by Hereford which is more akin to the Swindon affair.
Is their (Walsall's) regular price £20 or was it inflated for the Cup against local rivals? Premiership rugby costs about £24 so is the gap closing? I'm going to say it again ...why do Town wait until one is 65 to get OAP rates? Most, but not all, other clubs start at 60 or 62!
I did a survey recently and it is roughly a 50/50 split in league one between 60 and 65 reductions. Bizarrely Fail is 62.
