The finances necessary to run a football club these days are becoming alarming and the situation in Swindon should raise flags all around the financially troubled clubs throughtout the leagues, including ourselves. We can all sit smugly back and say they have created their own possible demise, but have they really, or is it more down to the price we have to pay for overated and overpaid players? I noticed on BBC Sport this morning that Liverpool are considering future salaries that will be partly based on incentive bonuses rather than huge weekly money that does not create an environment of wanting to achieve. Swindon have reported annual losses of around 12 million and if you have been keeping in touch with the finances at BCFC then you will recognise that reported loss as being in the same region as ours. With the FFP looming around the corner and the financial losses that will undoubtebly be incurred by us this coming year then I don't think it will take a rocket scientist to see where we could be headed. If you considerthat we face the possibilty of relegation on top of the losses then the scenario could get even more scary. I am not in any way saying that administration is a possibility but in this dog eat dog world it can catch you from behind in double quick time and it takes a management that is on the ball to keep their team on the right track. Our team need to get back on the tracks asap and I truly believe that our best hope is under SOD's managerial acumen and the other stuff will take care of itself. In a nutshell: Welcome aboard Sean and we all wish you success.
Off the BBC web tis morning League One side Swindon Town are considering administration to reduce their debts, which are thought to be around £13m. BBC Wiltshire has learned that Andrew Black, Swindon's owner, is unwilling to put in further funds, and is actively seeking fresh investment.
3rd time entering administration. deserves more than just a 10 point deduction in my eyes. not fair on the fans but it shouldnt be allowed to keep entering administration to wipe out millions and millions of debts and do it all over again.
Not complacent any more - we all thought that about Delboy and the wheels fell off. Without wishing to cast a shadow over this honeymoon, I think I will sing the paudits as and when SOD earns them
Yes, until we see team selection and performances, we should be a little bit cautious about the future. We'll all have a better idea at end of January, whether the big escape is on or not.
lat's get back to abit of reality here and understand that a walloping of Leeds this weekend is probably not going to happen and it will take SOD some time to ring the changes. I just hope that he is reviewing the tapes of this season's games so far and deciding who he does not want to play, and most of us know who they are. Possibly by our next home fixture vs Ipswich he will have a better understanding of what players to play and in which position and he may even have brought in a couple of new signings that he feels will help our cause. Please Sean get us those midfield and defensive players which we have been screaming out for over many years and have been totally ignored, but when you review the tapes you'll know exactly what we mean. Pretty please!
