They are considering administration to clear £9m worth of debts. What's the likely punishment? Oh probably just 10 points reduction. Can the FA please change the ruling on this!

Automatic relegation x 2 would soon stop the fly-by-nighters.

No it would't! They are so unscrupulous they would take their money and run leaving the fans and club behind to pick up the pieces. Fit and proper persons rules are a joke....would you buy a second hand car off Ridsdale?....or many others. And as for sugar daddies like Abramovich, how can one tell the good from the bad.

The owner of Swindon has ploughed £9 million into the club and the fans were happy with that. He will end up losing money probably. The fans were happy enough with the finance of De Canio and his expensive imports. They do not have my sympathy. Black would seem to be an eminently suitable owner and if he didn't pass the fit and proper test, no one would.

    How about this?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21258477

"Swindon Town are set to be sold to a local consortium, understood to be led by Banbury United owner Jed McCrory." He may love footy but look what happened to the Truro connection for Plymouth AND......

"It was revealed earlier this month that Town owner Andrew Black was putting the League One club up for sale because he was no longer willing to invest." Well he was there for the long term (not) as a true believer in the club who's not short of a bob or two AND.....

"McCrory assumed control of Southern League side Banbury six months ago." Well he doesn't let the grass grow under his feet! AND.....

"Swindon have already appointed advisors to restructure their finances and a letter had been sent to every club in the Football League stating that all Swindon players were for sale.

"However, the sale of the club means this is likely to be retracted, along with any threat of administration.".....CONVENIENT? AND........

"Speaking last month, the club's current chairman Sir William Patey, who is set to leave his position when the new owners are confirmed, insisted the club had no money to spend on big signings."

WHAT A FIASCO! :emoticon-0113-sleep Exciting or what?

Well gentlemen this brings me back to my point..Supporter should own their own club outright!!, that's the only way we can keep unscrupulous businessmen out of football... I have every sympathy for the fans of some of these clubs as their hands are tied, and i'm sure this is just a tip of the iceberg....but never forget a couple of years down the line and we could very well be in the same boat when Rowland retires, and there is nothing on this earth we could do about it!!
