Interesting post match comment from Joey Barton. Suggests that all has not been well in the camp, as has been intimated several times this season. A real shame as it indicates that there's been a lack of application from players.
QPR relegation problems down to Harry Redknapp transfer policy, claims captain Joey Barton 12:47, 23 March 2015 By Neil McLeman The R's are staring down the barrel after a fifth straight defeat under new boss Chris Ramsey and Barton has pointed the finger at Redknapp. The R's are staring down the barrel after a fifth straight defeat under new boss Chris Ramsey and Barton has pointed the finger at Redknapp Joey Barton has claimed Harry Redknapp's summer transfer policy will be to blame if QPR are relegated this season. Rangers remain four points from safety after a fifth consecutive defeat under new manager Chris Ramsey. But after the 2-1 home loss to Everton , the QPR captain pointed the finger at the previous manager Redknapp who left the club at the end of the winter transfer window. Barton said: “It is difficult for me to get away from the blatantly obvious facts. Those facts being, realistically, statistically, we are the worst team in the league. "Finishing fourth in the Championship last season, scraping up via the play-offs says that.” Although he does not mention Redknapp by name, it is clear to whom Barton is referring when he adds: “So the thing that you have got to do in between getting promoted and getting back to the Premier League is have an incredible pre-season and recruit really well. "You would have to look at that and make a decision on that. Then the next recruitment window is key. Again, you have to look at that window and say: ‘Have we given ourselves the maximum opportunity?’ please log in to view this image Dejected: Ramsey looks on at Loftus Road "Because everybody put a shift in against Everton and we have come up short. We are looking around that dressing room and you can’t fault people. They have given everything. "If they are not good enough, that is a recruitment issue. That is not players not putting it in. "For me, as a player, all you can ask of your team-mates is to put a shift in.” http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/qpr-relegation-problems-down-harry-5385612?
Its hard to disagree with what he says but I find it difficult to take the chap seriously regardless of what he says. Remember when COLIN bought him and made him captain and within weeks he went to Tony slagging him off? Did the same with Sparkless. If it was anyone else saying this, someone I could respect, then great. But its not. Its Joey Mouthpiece Barton
He'll have to instruct his own staff to drag him off the pitch next red mist. "Watching a magpie drop a lifeless rat into my neighbours garden made me think of Joey Barton" is quite funny Joey, I know this, it made me laugh all morning. Well done Joey.
We could do worse. And probably will. I'd give Joey Barton a crack at the job. Could be the making of the man.
Wouldn't bother me. I could go into total QPR hibernation until about October when he'd be sacked for biting the 4th official. Though why the **** it should be my club giving this total **** endless chances to redeem himself is beyond me.
My apologies Sku. I thought our reason d'etre was to be as successful a Club as we can be. I didn't realise our sole purpose was to rehabilitate miscreants. I hope you've petitioned Tony for a name change. Betty Ford's Park Rangers is an idea
Sorry Sku, you've lost the plot, this miscreant is at the core of unrest at the club, FYI- Hill has never been far behind
On reflection, pehaps the opportunity would come too soon and Joey Barton needs to cut his teeth on something less in the spotlight and learn his craft. I'm sure I read somewhere that he was beginning his coaching badges last year.
