I thought Dunne saved us a few times tonight, I'd be more critical of slow and slower in front of him who might as well have been wearing white shirts.
Most intimidating ground in the league. Gives us a definite edge at home, away players aren't used to be that close to the crowd.
Harry is getting the hang of it at home, all we need now is an away manager; sounds crazy but perhaps Hoddle for the away games?
Those Canadians Killy is listening to haven't a clue. The two Center-halves did all they could tonight. It was Henry but specifically Barton who were the main culprits. Barton's passing is indeed bordering on a joke as someone has already said.
Me too, I agree, I thought he played a very solid game - that was the opinion of these analysts. Perhaps if we held on for another 12 mins to pick up a 0-0 draw we would have just been plastering over the obviously cracks that are painfully apparent.
That particular analyst is actually a short chubby Brit who possibly previously played English league football. Kristian Jack - don't think he ever played professional football please log in to view this image He was certainly really having a go at us today in the post match show. His major point was that compared to Burnley & Leicester we have spent so much bringing in new players, yet have no real overall improvement to show for it. Also we seem to be repeating the same mistakes of our previous PL experience.
Just got to this and i gather we lost (1-nil or 2 Nil?) Was1-Nil when i last heard. Well i guess all the next 100 posts or so are gonna be "HARRY OUT" and the like...Each to thier own, I'll make a point of reading then when I've finished cutting my nuts off with a blunt spoon...!! In fact, cant be arsed, i think i'll give it a miss. Goo luck lads (and beth)
As stroller said, the definition of madness.....................etc. Harry just continues to play the same way time and time again away from home. It was the wrong team with the wrong set up. Away from home, you need an outlet to relieve the pressure. Vargas should have been one outlet, but Isla should have started so that they could link up. Hoilett would have given us an outlet on the other side. No outlet and very little pace = very little chance of coming away with anything. Look at the way Leicester played at our place. They really deserved a draw and had us in trouble on the break time after time. Harry is clueless and our home form won't be enough if we don't start picking something up away from home.
We haven't got the organisation to hold off teams at this level yet IMO I would much rather get an attacking pattern going … Harold can't play chess that's for sure … if we park the bus then we effectively lose the game before we kick off 12 minutes however and if we had scraped through then all on here would be saying good point
I spent most of the match sitting on my hands - not to keep them warm, but to try to contain my increasing agitation over our performance and the risk of upsetting the two kids (not mine) sitting next to me with a stream of invective I've been to all our PL games so far this season, and I really don't understand our tactics away from home - essentially playing 4 central midfielders, with Vargas playing in a free role behind Austin. This seems to lead us to struggling to contain teams that play effectively down the flanks - and Swansea were excellent at that last night - whilst limiting our own options goings forwards. Equally frustrating is the constant indecision in midfield with the ball then going backwards, eventually to Green's feet. This seems to be a combination of a lack of movement from our forwards, and a lack of vision in the midfield. I'd really like to see the wide players given a run out - surely we can't be any worse?? Last night we also seemed to struggle with a lot of simple passing - Barton the main culprit again - in a repeat of what we've seen in many games so far this season The standout player for us was undoubtedly Green, who made two outstanding stops in the first 5 or so minutes, and I was amazed that it took Swansea until so late in the game to actually get the ball in the net It was also clear that Vargas is much more effective when Isla plays Saturday is such a big game for us, compounded by our shocking away form
I hope so. I'm guessing Bobby wasn't fit either because surely Harry would have thrown him on considering the way the game was going?
Fair play to you Stortford. Going to every PL game and to have to watch those away performances takes some doing. I along with many others on here I'm sure, will agree with all that you've said. The thing that gets me is that with all of those great footballing minds among the backstaff, do not one of them say.... '' Harry me old mate, this hasn't worked for the last six away games. Shall we try something different? ''
no wi fi yesterday so I have only just seen this thread 9s she can be our celeb fan for weeks to come
