Those going Everton on a Monday night sky game deserve a knighthood that or a mental health test. Swansea in itself is a tough game but there's a definite pattern in our away games this season. Redknapp's getting it wrong in the away games time and again
Austin has scored 7 this season, 2 away. Our next highest goalscorer has 1 goal. Vargas has scored 1 and Zamora 0. Still say we went into the season with not enough strikers so what did we actually expect??
Game was crying out for someone to hold the ball up the other end - as the game went on we we're getting deeper and deeper - can't understand Harry not getting Bobby on...
Remy going right at the death didn't help, but the real problem away from home is the midfield constantly giving the ball away
we hardly offered much up front in the way of service for Charlie... there aren't many strikers who would have made a difference - maybe Bale or Ronaldo doing it on their own...
Away from home we have scored twice in seven games. This is not to do with the amount of strikers at the club. It is due to HR sending the side out to defend, defend, defend. If we somehow managed to sneak a goal less draw he would be estactic. When you invite pressure for the whole of the game there is only one likely outcome.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.
How is it we can be all over Man City and Liverpool at home but be utter ****e away ? It's the same team for f@cksake.
I think our management were the only ones who expected Remy to stay, and that has cost us all season.
Just listening to the Canadian post match show - in their opinion, given all the money we have spent, compared to Burnley & Leicester, we are an absolute shambles defensively having conceded 27 goals to date. CB's Dunne & Rio (not that he is playing) are past it for PL and Caulker is only good in the air.
You are spot on, but I think they thought Defoe was signed until Toronto pulled the plug at the last minute
Seconded. To be fair to Harry there's not all that much he can do, he just doesn't have the players. Green MOTM by a mile but apart from him what have honestly got that's Premier League class or still Premier League class? Green, Caulker, Krancjar and then who? Madness not getting Zamora on, Vargas and Austin can't hold up the ball and so the pressure's back on immediately.
Even Remy's presence would have only partially mitigated the 27 goals we have conceded. Defence is our major problem right now - not sure why Isla was not played at RB this evening as he seems to bring out the best in Vargas.
Agree there is more to it then needing goalscorers, but if Austin gets injured we are in deep deep trouble, not that things are exactly great at the moment.
