Norwich have turned it around nicely, credit to your manager for that. Aston Villa might be in the **** if they dont buy players in January,Southampton,QPR,sunderland,Reading ,us and you guys are the teams on everyones lips but alot can happen in this league, Newcastle looked very iffy at times and if they get the wrong result against southampton then it will be panick stations up in the toon
I honestly can't see QPR getting out of it.Fernandez can't bring himself to admit that Hughes was a big mistake and just keeps up the same old mantra,To quote Private Frazer they are doooomed!
yes i think qpr have to much to do now, I don't think we will be dragged into the relegation dog fight this season if we buy well in January. I have this feeling villa are going to struggle along with reading and southampton who will all fail to accumulate enough points to stay up. I think it will be less than 40 points for safety this season the way results are going because even the top 4 teams are dropping points, so my prediction will be qpr definitely and two others out of villa, saints and reading...
QPR are about 12pts behind us, thats 4 wins for them and 4 defeats for us ..and we are in 10th place !! they have some decent games coming up apart from Man utd so im not so sure they can be written off so easy, we all know how mad the prem league is, we are better off just going for that 40pt target that seems to be the magic number.
Agree with that, Norway. This league is full of surprises and a barren run of four games will see us back in the relegation struggle. The equivalent of eight wins will see us safe and I have bet on us to do that but we need to keep pressing and buy some quality in January to rubber stamp it.
Norwich can be tricky, and they seem to have found some form, but I would think we have a good chance of picking up points at home against them! I'd think it's likely to be 4 points than six. QPR are far from buried yet................
they are not far from buried they are digging their own grave...they will be down by xmas the way results are going....
Qpr are gone. They have played all 3 newly promoted teams at home, losing 2 drawing 1... lost to ourselves and failed to beat Norwich and have not won away in over a year! Exactly where are the points going to come from?
With regards to QPR's plight, not even their fans seem to recognise the fault lines in their failings. I quote, from their board: "The problem if a new manager comes in is he's stuck with the same bunch till January before he can make any significant changes." So they genuinely think that buying MORE new players is the way to save them. Because buying two brand new starting elevens in two years has really worked out well for them, hasn't it? If they get a man-manager in who can pick out the players with passion and commitment to the club, and get them playing, I still think that they could finish clear of the bottom four or five. They do have some undoubted quality.
Their posters are the most blinkered, arrogant fans to ever embrace this forum. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.
I think the problem with QPR is they have brought in a hotch potch of talented players and as Big Apple Jack says, 2 brand new starting elevens but they have no core of players who have been there through the years and are committed to the club like Leon, Ash, Gary Monk, Joe Allen before he left and even some of our signings before this season have now been with us for a season or two or three and are settled in and are feeling the "Hywl" the heart, the spirit, the likes of Rangel now in his 3rd season? who plays his socks off every game, Dyer and Routlidge. Young Ben Davies stepping up to the line after getting his chance when Taylor got injured, has just got better and better. Tremmell, what a great save on Saturday. Michu? Say no more , what a great buy and just slotted in so easily. Pablo? I thought he was fantastic against Newcastle, he created so many chances for other players to score. Shecter, when he came on at the game I watched at Southampton looked busy and hungry to get involved. I was impressed by him. Ivoralljack suggests we buy quality in January. I disagree. I think we should stick wholeheartedly with the players we have now, I think they are quality especially for what we paid for our new players. They are doing well , are jelling, getting that team spirit and becoming Jacks, unlike QPR which is where I started. I'm betting that win against Newcastle has given them a lot of new confidence and team spirit and Mr Laudrup looked like he really enjoyed it, I certainly did.
There aren't many teams in the prem that can say they have 4 champions league winners with 4 different clubs but that just goes to show that money isn't everything we could of all gone after cisse or bosingwa but we again signed players who are hungry and want to show their true worth for the club, so if we do sign.anyone in.Jan we know that the players will want to impress and improve our club don't forget Kyle bartley should be back soon also. by Christmas there could already be 2 teams cut adrift
Swans are fantastic at Home ,as are Norwich... We are both looking like we belong in this league.....
Good post but I stand by what I said regarding buying more quality. Quality is a commodity that you can't have enough of at this level. When everyone is fit you have serious competition for places but when that isn't the case you have a top player who will step in and do a good job. The one thing that pundits, the media, football managers and players always bang on about, is the depth and QUALITY of any squad. Numbers in themselves are of no use. What is needed is the type of player that can seamlessly fit in when there are injuries or suspensions ( a permanent problem for any team) - or when tired players just need a rest. I think we are two or three players away from being a solid mid-table side capable of a possible tilt at the upper reaches of the league. The very top places will always be out of reach because the mega rich clubs already have strong squads with quality in depth. Despite this, they are always looking to add to what they've got. We should be looking to do the same, within our budget, of course and Michael Laudrup has shown how astute he is at doing just that.
I fear for Luke Moore come January as he has been shunted to the bottom of the pecking order up front.
