Two points I'd like to make cos I've already given my views on game in the Swansea v Leeds thread.

Phillips allowed McBurnie to breeze past him without putting in a challenge resulting in a goal. Was it because he was already on a yellow, or did he leave it for someone else to mop up?......Question is, if it was because of his previous yellow, then chances are, he would've been doing that throughout the whole game thus putting more pressure and workload onto our defence. For me, no excuse, a challenge would've probably prevented the goal.

I previously mentioned how BPF was 2 steps too far forward for Swansea's second goal, and he was flapping in thin air. Look at around 8-50 onwards, a cross is coming in from a free kick, look where BPF is stood, he's in no mans land and all at sea not knowing what decision to make, he's basically giving Swansea an open goal......in those situations he either should be coming out to get the ball (definitely should be) or stay back on his line.

The position he put himself in is a no no, he should've made a decision before the free kick was taken.

While BPF is a good keeper, he does pull off some good saves, his indecisiveness is going to cost us quite a few goals in future.

Highlights has French commentary, but it is 10 mins long.

English commentary, courtesy of Swans TV. 9 mins long.

MB post Swansea game.....it seems to be out of sync.

Our fans on song, politely of course.

    McBurnie post match

    Potter post match interview.

    Enjoy.

Yes agree at the 8.50 point of indecision, then he saves the match for us in the next segment of highlights?

The French highlights show a more balanced game than the english ones but the editing is poor

I agree about Phillips. Can only assume it was fear of second yellow. Or he was dreaming.

Bit harsh on BPF I think.

    Thanks for posting them btw

Watched the Phillips incident over and over again, I’ve changed my mind, I think he got wrong footed and realised the player was past him, but any kind of touch on him after that and he’d be off.

After being wrong footed I agree he should not have attempted a challenge, the Swansea guy was in full flow, it would be a card and down to 10 men, still a mistake on his part but general good play be Swansea and poor by us too.

The goal was started for them by Phillips losing the ball in their 3rd, poor by him and usually when he ventures forward Klich is covering back, couldn’t see where abouts he was. Can’t make my mind up about the keeping if I’m totally honest.

Didn't Bielsa say quite clearly in the post match presser that Phillips was indeed taken off due to the likelihood of a second card? The ref was awful. Our first 3 yellows were for first fouls, and pretty innocuous too. How they got away with some of their fouling, I'll never know. Baker even got his head kicked whilst he lay in front of goal. Result? Nowt. Not even a ticking off. Shocking. Still feel we should have had a penalty too, but too much time has passed for me to remember the details.

    It wasn’t Phillips first foul

Phillips was a deserved booking and he took one for the team to prevent them breaking at the defence. Definitely think this influenced his decision making when avoiding a mistimed tackle in the move that led to the goal. I actually think that showed that he is maturing because last couple of seasons he would have lunged in and we’d have been down to 10 men, probably have lost and all slating him. His role is to break up their game, which often means giving away niggly fouls so probably right for Bielsa to take him off. Need a CB or teams are going to expose our lack of height. Personally very happy with the point.

Excellent game by 2 sides that will be challenging for promotion at the end of the season....On Leeds it is good to see them have a good manager at last even though he dont speak a word of English.....Football has hundreds of languages anyway..<laugh> This was a good advert for championship football and i hope both teams that try to play the game as it should be played continue to get better.....Good luck for the rest of the season......Your fans were brilliant last night also. Made me laugh ...

On his role in their first goal, I agree he did the right thing not going in from behind as that was a sending off waiting to happen, my criticism was he was ambling before that and there was a big gap the Swansea Ginge ran into, if he’d gone there earlier it would have forestalled the situation

Don't disagree with that but their player ran a long way with out someone else tackling (or taking him out). I think most agree we were a bit off the pace as a team compared to previous matches and as much as I'm loathe to criticise Bielsa (a breath of fresh air), this was the 4th league game in a row without changes, other than the enforced one, and was barely 48 hours after the previous game. Maybe some needed rotating to freshen it up.

Watch other games when Phillips is in the final 3rd Klich comes over to cover even Ayling or Douglas from the full back positions, there was a big hole behind Phillips as nobody plugged it this time. Stoke game was beautiful to watch as Klich and Phillips swapped with each other beautifully.

This is the risk with Bielsas gameplan, slightly out or one person forgetting their role for a moment and we could be punished and were, I would still however take that risk as it’s exciting to watch.

I think @2 pennth was right in another thread, it’s a team failiure or success rather than an individual, if one gets it wrong it exposes another player.

I think Harrison might keep his place and Phillips will be back but the CB worries me, I don’t want to lose Ayling on the right no matter how well Shackleton did.
