Hi guys. I've no idea if you normally put up a matchday thread. If you do then feel free to ignore this. We have our own thread on the link below if you'd like to contribute. Looks like we're all pretty confident if you want to bring us down a peg or two (nicely of course!). Safe travels to those brave souls making the long journey south. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/240428-Swansea-v-Hull-Match-Thread
Knackers, on the grounds we let you win that game that sent Exeter down instead of you, I think three points is the minimum you owe us really. Fairs fair.
Incredible isn't it? It's the beauty of following your home town club instead of picking a successful one. The joys of Division three and Four are greater than a Champions League win to a fan of an adopted team. It's like climbing Everest in comparison to getting a lift to the summit in a helicopter.
I wonder how much pre match will be taken up by our recent histories ? sorry for not noticing but did you receive much attention during your previous stint in the PL and correct me if I'm wrong but didn't you achieve PL within 5 years as being one of the quickest ever ?, if so
It was the quickest since the inception of the Prem, certainly. I'm sure one team did go from the 4th tier to the 1st tier quicker than us though. Didn't Swansea do it quicker under Toshack?
We got a **** load of coverage on our initial promotion and up to the Christmas we were almost everybody's darlings. Now we're just one of a few that make up the numbers at the bottom. It's an odd one, we all crave success for out teams, but I think something gets lost when you get there. I wouldn't have missed the journey for the world though.
In the 1960s Northampton Town went from the Fourth Division to the First, then back again within 10 seasons.
**** me, Matthew Bound - a name I had forgotten. Sure he scored the winner at Ninian Park for us in a 4-3 win - amazing match.
Seems amazing that a dead rubber of a game (for us) in Lg2 is another Premier League club's most memorable day
Stats from BBC Sport... Head-to-head These sides have never met in the Premier League. Hull are unbeaten in their last four league meetings (W3, D1). Their last meeting was a 1-1 draw in the Championship in April 2011. Swansea have won 21 of their 32 home league meetings with Hull (L4, D7). Swansea Victory over Newcastle last time out was just Swansea's second win in their last 12 home league games (W2, D5, L5). After 24 Premier League games without a goal at the Liberty Stadium, Nathan Dyer has now scored in successive home league matches. Four of Swansea's last 12 goals in the Premier League have been own goals. Jonjo Shelvey has scored more Premier League goals in 12 Swansea appearances (three) than he managed in 47 with Liverpool (two). No side have benefited from more own goals in the Premier League this season than Swansea City (4). Discounting Wilfred Bony and Michu, own goals top the Swans' scoring charts. Hull Hull have won just one of their last 31 Barclays Premier League away games (D7, L23). After three wins in their opening six Premier League games, Hull have won two of their last eight. Only Sunderland have a worse away record than the Tigers (L6, W1) this season. Only Aston Villa have lost fewer points from winning positions (zero) than Hull (two) this season. The Tigers have only scored more than once in three of their 17 games in all competitions. Own goals are Hull's second top-scorer behind Robbie Brady.
Worrying stats them. People keep banging on about 10 wins needed but its 10 draws as well. 6 losses and 1 win away isnt good enough. We need to be drawing some of these aways. OG second top scorer!! It'll be DG by tomorrow night!! I have been drinking.
That away game stat really pisses me off. How many of those games where with a completely different squad which was much worse than the current one? 25?
This game has draw written all over it, monday night game with the weather turning in December with two relatively well-matched sides with a bit of history between them. If we don't take a point from them I will be upset as am going to put the last of my Skybet money on that result and Danny Graham scoring
All our games this season have been against the teams in the top 8 ffs. It's a completely misleading stat. We have had the most difficult away schedule of any team. FACT.
