Whilst reading an article about the Fulham game just gone, I stumbled upon this. It took me back, and struck me as a somewhat defining moment. As Swans fans, we knew that we could play, but not until this game did we truly realise just how effective our play could be. Against anyone. This was when I truly began to believe. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/feb/15/fa-cup-fulham-swansea?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487
This was the game that moved Tommy Docherty to say it was the finest footballing display he had witnessed in 25 years. Perhaps an overstatement but the sentiments reflected a quite fabulous performance from us that day. Our passing, movement and fluency during that game was quite superb and we were three goals better than the Premiership outfit. I must admit, BAJ, that, like you, I wondered if we were going to go on to greater things after seeing that. Turns out we were both right!!
I was there, and we played them off the park, and Simon Davies said afterwards it was like chasing shadows! How I miss Scotland though.............................. please log in to view this image
Remember the game well, it should never have gone to a replay. What really sticks in my mind was the 3 points I picked up on the way home by PC Plod. Only realised the early part of the month that the three years was up, how time flies. Look where we were, to where we are now, who would have thought this three years ago.
