Sorry guys same old same old, loads of possession but not one shot on target.

Yet again box to box we are ok, in and around the opponents box, we totally and utterly run out of ideas and that is exacerbated by completely shocking crosses.

This midfield is never going to be consistent enough, Smith tries his best but is on his own, Paterson has been wasteful all half, Weimann today like Stoke offering nothing. We are missing Baker at the back, Williams doesn't cut it anymore.

Vyner is having a good game.

Watched most of the first half on my mobile by the pool here in Gib.
Bad result but I quite enjoyed the flow. Pacy game.

Let me guess, this will be LJs fault...

For me today the performance encapsulated most of our season since January.

A slow, predictable and non creative midfield, 1 shot on target a weak daisy cutter from 35 yards by Paterson.

Loads of possession but a total lack of creativity, we deserved nothing today and thats what we got.

We lack leaders, especially in midfield, Wells had a shocker, closely followed by a wasteful Paterson and Weimann.

Vyner was our best player, made one mistake that nearly resulted in a goal, but looks a talent.

Well I will answer your post. Even though you will almost certainly not engage in debate.

Todays performance was not his fault obviously, however not improving a poor, unfit for purpose midfield during his tenure IMHO ultimately cost him his job, it is a weak, slow, predictable and mainly non creative midfield and was for most of the time he was in charge.

The new manager will build a good team with some of this squad of players, not all of them are bad, granted some need to move on, and I’d probably go as far as saying let J Mac and Holden leave at the end of the season and let the new guy bring his own staff in for some new fresh ideas and approaches.

Time the game blame ended, it's time to look forward to a hopefully bright new future and I really mean it when I say good luck to LJ with his next position, except when he may play us.

We were unfortunate to lose to 1-0 to Swansea, we missed a penalty, had 57% possession and had 6 corners they never had one but that's the name of the game, onwards against Preston.

We were not unfortunate, we had 1 shot on target, a weak effort from 35 yards. We created absolutely nothing, it wasn't even a surprise when we missed the penalty.

They managed us easily throughout the game, all they needed to do was be patient and wait for their chance, they had a game plan, as I said box to box OK and then nothing, no creative spark whatsoever.

We certainly are in need of a complete clear out and this should be the time for action. I just hope our new manager has the time to assess what we have and what is needed to make us a competitor, along with the freedom to make key decisions based on their experiences. There are a lot of players out there who aren't getting the game time needed to improve their lot in the footballing world and our new guy should have enough contacts to improve our chances of success and put the pieces back together again. Let's ditch all things negative and move on.

After the usual dead cat bounce, normal service resumes.
Our squad is poor and heading in one direction.
Junior has been sacked but left the club with a disaster waiting to happen.

It's no good Mr Lansdown, I did warn you.

I didn't especially see a 'dead cat bounce' performance wise only points wise, we eventually beat Hull, a team who later lost a game 8-0 and described on here as a 'points on a plate game', it was better but hardly convincing. Even I thought we played well against Middlesborough but once more described on here as a 'points on plate game' and they are still struggling, I thought we were lucky against Stoke and deserved nowt today.

But I agree with much of the rest of your post and I agree with a previous poster, the coaching staff need to go as well.

If only we were half as good going forward as we’re are going backwards, confidence is shattered

The City squad is full of barely ordinary players.
Junior has left us with no 'stand outs' and why there's been no settled system or spine to the team.

Bentley, Hunt, Williams, Weiman, Rowe, Patterson, Nagy, Massengo, Palmer and Watkins are all 'ordinary' at best.
    Cod is useless.
Baker's a decent defender but can't pass and is injury prone.
Kalas is half the play of last season.
Tbf to Fammy and Wells I'll give the benefit of doubt due to the service they receive.
I have hope for Vyner centrally and know DaSilva is rated on here but the jury is out for me.

Whoever is appointed will be handed, courtesy of Lee Johnson, a poisoned chalice.

What I said RR was we were unfortunate to lose 1-0 when we had missed a penalty, had 57% possession and 6 corners to their none, nowhere did I infer we played well, not hard to understand .

Until the new manager or coach and his team is appointed there is no rhyme or reason in a continual bombardement of our existing playing staff or stand in management with insults and criticisms, some on here continue to do so, most of us are aware of our faults and weaknesses, it's trivial, needless and pointless to keep repeating the same critique with one game to go.

LJ has gone, I never liked him as our coach, as a man I have got no problems at all with him but I have always supported Bristol City FC and will continue to do so, regardless.

I thought a load of you said that we had a decent squad of players but it was LJ's tinkering and team selection the main problem <doh> how quick the minds change :emoticon-0127-lipss Oh, doesn't matter...all along and for years to come, it will be LJ's fault :emoticon-0103-cool:

I don't think that is correct statement RP the poison chalice is from the board … they made a decision to "have a plan" that plan was to go with it and make progress each year "they knee jerked" after Cardiff ...they changed the level of the playing field by selling Josh ..should have taken the chance and stood by their resolve … with JB we could have been in play off's or even top 2 as "hindsight indicates" how results have gone … most on here pointed out weekly "WE NEED A MIDFIELDER" but he was off warming the bench at Burnley … nowadays I contribute around £120 a season to City … not anymore …
