According to John Percy. Tough one as he has served us well and it does recoup what we paid It would allow us to buy another striker who would suit our fast style better but its always good to have a big man avalible
The only way this will happen is if you give us £10m to take him off your hands, the Swans will not spend that kind of money on a player who has no possible chance to sell on.
I dunno - he is a proven Premier League player and you are flush with TV cash. We would be tempted at that price as well which is kind of a pity. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...h-10m-bid-for-leicesters-leonardo-ulloa-ahea/
Yes but our club is not stupid, we won't spend money on somebody that we cannot sell on after a couple of years, we always go for young players who can improve the club. This for me is a non starter, and I don't know where he's getting the rumours, it's certainly not from the Swans as they don't advertise people we are going after.
You are admitting that you are just a selling club so signing someone for now rather then later would be a statement that you want to change - new manager, new intentions?
Every club is a selling club if the fee is right, the player would go if they want to. And if you knew the Swans at all the managers we bring in have to adapt to us not the other way, we've had a number of managers in the last 10 years and everyone of them has to comply.
Can´t see him getting to much time on the pitch next season (for LCFC). This may be a good bit of business. Although having said that, yes, l would be sad to see him sold.
.. staying in the Premier League is the primary focus of all clubs apart from the very elite ... to that end a £10m transfer fee is nothing ... look at Palace bidding £30m+ for Benteke .... Leo has a good couple of seasons left in him at this level and is a proven goalscorer ... he is also a great defender for opposition set pieces etc ... Swans are being linked with new owners etc - the first priority for such will be continued presence in the EPL ... Routledge and Montero could supply the bombs to bring out the best in Leo Ulloa so I can see why there might be interest ...
The Swans have been taken over already, it should be completed within a month, the new owners will want an input in what their investment is doing, and nothing major will be done without their say so. As for £10m being nothing, well you don't know the way my club is run, they do not do business that can endanger our club, as a club that almost liquidated just over a decade ago we don't take risks, your club was in that possible position not so long ago. I am not dissing Ulloa, but his best days is behind him, he is a bit part player for your team, and is no better than Gomis who is going from our club, he is also 30 years old so there is no chance of selling him on, if he comes it will be nowhere near that sum of £10m, and he will be in the same position as he will be at your club, a second or third choice striker.
If you say so ... but you spent £5m on Eder if I remeber rightly and he is only a year younger than Ulloa ... Ulloa scored 11 goals in his first prem season with us when he was a regular starter and 6 last season when used as a sub for almost the entirety (before Vardy's ban) .. he is way better than Gomis ... I doubt many Swans fans will mourn Gomis leaving ... Leo in contrast has established himself as a fans favourite ... Not all Swans think as you appear to ... yes the club keeps a tight ship but the incredible TV deals have changed the landscape remarkably and £10m today will be your £3-£4m of 3 years ago ...
We also sold Eder as he was useless for us and have recouped most of the money we bought him for, also he is 2 years younger than Ulloa is, and he came to us as a 27 year old. Of course not all people agree with me, but I would say quite a few are concerned of signing a 30 year old as a striker for £10m. And I would contend whether he is a substantially better player, we need somebody better than both these bit part players. And by the way Gomis scored 6 as a bit part player as well If he's such a great player then keep him yourselves and play him, we as a club will go to other targets from this one that this reporter is convinced we are making on him.
...being pedantic Ulloa is 29 (OK he's 30 later this month ) ... but Eder turns 29 in December ... Gomis scored 6 as a bit part player because he was a bit crap ... Ulloa scored 6 because he couldn't force his way into a side that romped to the EPL title by 10 points ... when called upon he delivered ... he was still a key contributor ... huge difference.
We do want him to stay but he is a bit part player and the bit is smaller with Musa joining us - he has been a good servant so we won't begrudge him a move. What are your thoughts that he could be exchanged for Gylfi Sigurdsson + cash? - that is the latest rumour atm.
That won't happen, siggy is a proven goal scorer at this level, scoring 11 last season plus doing well with Iceland. You would have to stump up at least £25m for him plus this player. But as we have no urgency to sell as we are in a healthy position you'd struggle to get him. And besides all of this lovely chat, it's likely we will go for a player that is at least 5 years younger than this chap from another country, we have form for this, Gomis hasn't really worked for us, but we had him on a free and looking at him we thought we'd do well with him. To be honest I would rather we go and get Bony than your player.
Eder is gone, he was a failure at our club, he scored none, as for Gomis when he originally came to us it was to partner Bony, as a 2 striker up front, that didn't happen as we play 1 up front and Bony went to Man City, most of our goals comes from the wings or the man behind the one upfront.
I'd be sad to see him go, but I think he deserves regular football, which we can't necessarily promise. He'd get a warm round of applause from me if he showed up in a Swansea shirt. We're still pretty light on the striker front though (Ulloa, Okazaki and Vardy- Musa you could say is a winger) so I'd want to get someone decent to replace him.
